International Shipping Issue

Does international shipping normally take a month to deliver (USA to Netherlands)?

Today a buyer reached out for an update on their order. The item was paid for on May 10th and accepted on May 12th via USPS. The package arrived at the eBay Hub on May 19th. The tracking was not updated until May 29th when a label was created for DHL. DHL still has not received the package (5 days later). The estimated delivery date shows May 29th to June 9th. I just want to make sure the buyer receives the package and it is not lost. I reached out to customer service and they said it is currently in the delivery process and to wait until June 9th before taking action.

I am still fairly new to eBay so sorry if this a naïve post.

Re: International Shipping Issue

It can take that long depending on shipping volume to the country, what's in the package, type of package, did you combine multiple items that were supposed to be shipped separate, whether eBay has to do additional processing on their end, and a variety of factors.

Bottom line is you don't need to sweat it. The eBay International Shipping program covers you as the seller so if it doesn't arrive they will refund the buyer and your funds won't be affected. But it sounds like the label was created just a few days ago, which included a weekend, so the package should be headed out this week.

The most important thing to learn from this is to not waste your time with ebay customer service.

Your responsibility ends when the package is delivered to the Hub. You don't need to take action. It's now eBay's responsibility. The buyer, and you are paying for that.
