Considering letting my "top seller status" go because of the requirement for FREE returns. Postage fees just went up another 8%, and the number of "lookie loos", buying but not really interested once they receive, are getting too costly.
Is anyone else in this situation.
The Top seller status is suppose to give you 10% discount on fees, but eBay seems to create reasons for not giving the discount (uploading time, always within 24 hours, only use eBay postage, yet I get dinged for "late" or No tracking???

Trust me, it's not worth the hassles. My main seller acct has 10,051. I told ebay NO thanks. I sell toys and I am NOT Toys R US. If I list it, I don't want it back. I back well, I take multiple , clear photos. There is NO reason for a buyer to return any item if they read the description and looked at the photos. If the post office breaks something and buyer tells me and sends a photo, I immediately refund. I don't need the aggravation of shipping with 24 hours. 99% of my items do go out the same day payment received or the next morning but sometimes , stuff happens. Snow is supposed to hit the East Coast Sunday night. I am NOT going to the post office on Monday. I live on a hill and I am not going out on Sunday. If I were a top seller, I would have to ship on Monday for the 3 items I sold this afternoon. I offer 3 day shipping just incase I can't ship the very next day.
As for the 10% commission, just raise your prices by 10%. I don't like jumping through hoops . 10% is a very small amount for me since my items are cheap.

No it isn't.
Meeting the requirements for Top Rated Seller status and having a listing that meets the Top Rated Plus requirements is supposed to give you the specified 10% discount.

Can you clarify this? Are you saying that you uploaded your tracking time and it received a scan within your shipping timeframe, and that eBay is claiming otherwise to deny your discount?
Or are you saying that you sometimes don't meet these requirements f TRS Plus and don't think they should exist?

If and when you choose to not allow free returns and free shipping you will not lose your Top-Rated Seller status. You will simply lose this distinction in the search results and the other small eBay seller discounts. If a potential buyer clicks your Feedback the Top-Rated Seller status will still appear in the upper-left corner.

TR-Plus does not require free shipping. Only same-day or 1-day handling, and free returns.

...eventually, I predict that USPS will soon to increase their prices again to cover loss during transport...
...just recently, a freight train while stopped at one transferring station at Lincoln Heights, Los Angeles, thieves broke into it and stole all the goods...a picture was posted on Facebook showed a trail of opened boxes with Amazon Prime logo, eBay, Kohl's, and the others...(I think, one of my orders from eBay since Jan 03 could be in that train...)

I don’t see any indication that you are currently a top rated seller on the ID you posted with.

One month I am, next month I'm not. Sell over 600 products a month

Saw that on the news. Made it seem like it will be an ongoing issue, as there are no deterrents. Only charge those caught with misdemeanor offenses. Not sure how???

Semantics. People can click a box - FREE shipping.
Nothing FREE about shipping.
