I found on eBay a replica of a cherished stuffed animal my brother had as a child and bought it for his son (my nephew) for Christmas. It shipped a week ago, and seemed normal. For some bizarre reason, it is sent to Nashua, New Hampshire (I live in Rhode Island) RIGHT BEFORE A SNOW STORM. It leaves last Friday in the morning (from the accursed Nashua center), well, at least it was scanned. It has now seemingly disappeared into the ether and I have only been able to get IN TRANSIT ARRIVING LATE for the past four days. At least tell me where the bloody thing is; it could be in an alternate dimension (perhaps one where the USPS is efficient?) for all I know. Has anyone else had this problem?

Alas, in this weird year many packages are traveling in weird and delayed ways. The absence of scans has become a very common phenomenon since Thanksgiving. Apparently sorting centers are just completely overwhelmed. It will take time for them to work through the backup. Your item will eventually show up. Probably before Christmas. Here's the history of a package I received lately: No scans for over a week but it finally arrived.

When it says "in transit - arriving late" it basically means it's sitting on a truck at the distribution center which is where all the bottlenecks are due to so many USPS employees being out due to Covid + plus the holiday season which is much worse during a pandemic + incompetent USPS leadership which had already slowed down delivery. It will move again - usually takes about a week or so though we do have one we shipped that's been sitting somewhere for over two weeks. There is zero you or anyone else can do about this unfortunately and it's just going to get worse through the rest of the month and probably well into January.
