Hi eBay community, this is Carrie. It's my first time asking a question. I have read previous conversations and it has helped me out so thx. Ok so I shipped out a item on Dec. 13, 2019 and it arrived at a P.O Box on Dec. 17, 2019. On Dec. 24, 2019 this buyer said that they call the post office every day and they can't pick it up. Keep in mind it says available for pickup in the tracking number. They started a return saying that it's there they just can't pick it up or something like that. It didn't take long for me to catch on to this b.s, they were wanting to get a refund, then go pick up the item. I'm not stupid. I haven't mentioned this to the buyer. On Dec. 28, 2019 I called eBay and they figured out that they were responsible for picking up the item, therefore the request is closed and ended up in my favor but, the reason why I am asking you anything is because the item still says it's available for pickup. I looked at a eBay community discussion and many people said that packages that are left at a P.O Box for more than 2 weeks will be shipped back to where it came from. It's been there for 13 days. I haven't heard anything from the buyer since Dec. 24, 2019. I have contacted them a few times since so i guess they don't wanna talk. Anyway if it is sent back to me, since there is a closed request, will i be able to keep the item and sale it/ keep it once i get it without eBay takeing my money? I use PayPal if that helps. Look forward to getting a response.

Not hard for a buyer

I would refund only when you receive the item back. then block them. always be 100% perfect as a seller. It is so easy for a buyer to get their money back. either through ebay or paypal.

I had a buyer on another venue open a paypal case, saying the transaction was unauthorized. I contacted her about it and she said she had made a mistake; she hadn't recognized my business name. I sent paypal all the info from her order, the tracking showing it was delivered to her address, the screen shots of our convo's saying she made a mistake and was "so sorry" and that is was "a mistake". I even sent them screenshots of our convo's that happened *before* the sale, as she was requesting a custom item, proving that she did indeed place the order and it was definitely NOT an unauthorized transaction.
She got her money back.

When you shipped the package, you didn't require a signature did you?
If the address given was a PO Box, once it got there, tracking should show delivered to the PO Box.

Yeah so i didn't require a signature, it currently says available 4 pickup. Been there for 14 days

Do not list it until it's back in your hands. After that, have at it!

Well yeah, i wasn't planning on that

I'm planning on resaleing it if it is sent 2 me without giving her a refund. Should be do it? Everyone is telling me no. I don't want any trouble

Not necessarily, I have a PO Box and if the package is too large to fit in the box it is either put in a package locker and a key in my box. Tracking will show delivered to package locker. If no locker is available I will get a card telling me I have a package and it will show available for pick up on the tracking.

carrieclive-0 - It would be morally wrong to get the item back and still keep the original buyer's money. Essentially that would be a form of heft. If and when you get it back, you really must refund.
If you get it back you can sell it again, but you should block the original buyer so she can't pull this trick again.
You should understand that the money is not yours to spend until after the 30 eBay claim period is over, and actually it needs to be available for the time that buyers can make claims through Paypal, which is 180 days from the date of purchase. If your buyer chooses to got his route, they could win such a claim. And they definitely would win a chargeback case, as the seller does not even get a chance to defend that kind if claim.
If you continue to sell here you need to understand both the risks you are taking and the obligations you have to use this platform.

Ik but there's a thing called bills i have 2 pay
12-31-2019 01:09 PM
That doesn't mean i can't refund, it's means when i hav money in my account, sometimes i have 2 spent it
