I can't think of a subject so please read it anyway, it's important.

Hi eBay community, this is Carrie. It's my first time asking a question. I have read previous conversations and it has helped me out so thx. Ok so I shipped out a item on Dec. 13, 2019 and it arrived at a P.O Box on Dec. 17, 2019. On Dec. 24, 2019 this buyer said that they call the post office every day and they can't pick it up. Keep in mind it says available for pickup in the tracking number. They started a return saying that it's there they just can't pick it up or something like that. It didn't take long for me to catch on to this b.s, they were wanting to get a refund, then go pick up the item. I'm not stupid. I haven't mentioned this to the buyer. On Dec. 28, 2019 I called eBay and they figured out that they were responsible for picking up the item, therefore the request is closed and ended up in my favor but, the reason why I am asking you anything is because the item still says it's available for pickup. I looked at a eBay community discussion and many people said that packages that are left at a P.O Box for more than 2 weeks will be shipped back to where it came from. It's been there for 13 days. I haven't heard anything from the buyer since Dec. 24, 2019. I have contacted them a few times since so i guess they don't wanna talk. Anyway if it is sent back to me, since there is a closed request, will i be able to keep the item and sale it/ keep it once i get it without eBay takeing my money? I use PayPal if that helps. Look forward to getting a response.

Ok everyone I'm thinking about just ending all this nonsense, should i just tell her 2 go pick up her item or could that go south real quick?

At this point there is really nothing that you can do other than message the buyer to pick it up. You have already message them, so they know it is there.  With no more explanation from the buyer as to why they can not pick it up after calling the Post Office, personally I would do nothing at this point.

 

You can not cancel the transaction without the games being back in your possession. You would not be expected to refund until you have the item back.

 

If the buyer's PO is on the ball the "return to sender" "unclaimed"  should get started on Jan 2, or 3.  You could call their PO to ask why it can not be picked up/delivered.  May spark some action. If you have not signed up for tracking updates on the item you can do that to be notified in your email when a scan is done. Updates will appear in the "order details" on eBay, but that will be delayed.

 

You just have to keep in mind that even if they pick the item up, as already posted, it may not be over.  The INAD is still a possibility with PP.

Hey, happy new year. I'm kinda haven't 2nd thoughts about telling her yet again and calling her local post office. I thought I would think about 2day since i couldn't call the post office anyway since it new years day. At this point I will probably just make my own decisions on this issue and just keep everyone posted. Allso little note for buyselljack i forgot to ask, it's a small town so how quickly how quickly whould u think they get that package back 2 me if this isn't resolved?

With eBay no. With PayPal and possibly their credit card company if they used one to fund PayPal, YES. They still have one and possibly two avenues to try.

Alright so I'm not gonna do anything about it. I haven't received a message or anything from her, I can't find a phone number for her local post office as when i Google it, it gives me a 800 number that never answers. Tried 2 or 3 times. It's been sitting there for 19 days now and i don't know how much longer it will be until it is shipped back 2 me. Now ik people have been telling me that if i get it back i will need 2 refund but the truth is, i don't have a penny in my account, and another question i have is why should i be responsible 4 giving her money back. She should have got up and got it herself right? Ik someone might comment saying that's like acting like a 2 year old, but it's just a valid question i have. I will continue 2 keep u guys updated. Looking forward to getting the resonance. Oh btw you guys have been so knowledgeable and i thank u.
