Ordered an item from CHINA.....seller finally sent a tracking number, informed it was by CHINA POST. A quick google shows all sorts of CHINA tracking sites, all have some sort of ADD/ON application to track..not sure how legit these are. Is there a site I can just type in the China Post tracking number and see where the package is....without the add/ons,etc.

Easy answer is, NO. Unless the package was sent by the epacket service and was issued an USPS tracking number. China Post tracking numbers are similar to the US, with various forms of service carrying different numbers traceable under different formats. If a shipping company was used, numbers are issued as consignment and then the actual tracking number is assigned later. Seems most Chinese sellers just add whatever works in the ebay tracking number column. Ebay doesn't check and apparently doesn't care, so why should the sellers.

Take a look at this....I plugged the above track number into a search engine and this data came up:
Origin post is preparing shipment | |||
Dec 26 | 9:47 AM | Shenzhen Ems, China | Processed through facility |
Dec 25 | 5:52 PM | China | Acceptance |

LS407612621CN is a USPS packet service number. China Post tracking will only be available when the package is still in China. The gray area starts after the packages leaves China (no tracking) USPS takes over when the package is entered at the point of arrival. Right now USPS says you'll get your stuff on the 16th.
