I usually use a different zip-code for my return address than the post office I use to send my items from.
I think I just couldn't find the option to change my 'shipping from zip-code' on the new flow? Or unless they took out that option in the new flow?? Does anybody know how to change it or where the option is on the new flow?
I was in a hurry this morning to get my packages out, so I'm hoping it won't delay the arrival times for my buyers. I've read some old posts about not having a correct shipping from zipcode, but it seems there won't be charge as long as the 1st 3 digits aren't different, and that it probably won't delay the shipping time. Hopefully, that's correct...anyone have experience with this???
...also I miss the classic shipping label layout :'(

Does the zip code you want to use have the same first three digits as the one you want to change? Don't even worry about changing it if the first three digits are the same.
I wouldn't risk doing this........I actually had something returned to my home once when I accidently shipped it from a different nearby post office....complete with a nasty post it note on it.
It had the same first 3 digits.
the employees at that office need to be reeducated.
I can ship when the 1st three do not match when they go out of the same regional facility.
X33, X34, X35, X36 located within a few miles of each other.

One thing that I do not like about it is that it shows the inputted "ship from" on the packing slip that I print. I do not expect returns, but I cross out that address, and put my return address there to avoid any confusion.
I have had things shipped back with no contact, and just a note in the package. That would not work well with an address where I do not get mail.
Since the time we are required to use the new flow, I have been printing out the packing slip first, as with each new item it defaults to my correct return address.
Then I go change the zip code so that it will show the correct ship from zip on the mailing label.

Good that it works.
That one step to mark the box about the ship from, and return being different is an important one to remember to keep it from defaulting to an undesired address.
Although not a requirement by the DMM to change the "ship from" for most classes of mail (unless the shipping cost would be different) it is nice to get the financial credit to the right office. Also good to do that to avoid cranky employees that do not understand that it is NOT required, but just desired.
