How to Change Shipping From Zipcode in the 'New Flow' (Classic Shipping Gone)

I usually use a different zip-code for my return address than the post office I use to send my items from.

I think I just couldn't find the option to change my 'shipping from zip-code' on the new flow? Or unless they took out that option in the new flow?? Does anybody know how to change it or where the option is on the new flow?

I was in a hurry this morning to get my packages out, so I'm hoping it won't delay the arrival times for my buyers. I've read some old posts about not having a correct shipping from zipcode, but it seems there won't be charge as long as the 1st 3 digits aren't different, and that it probably won't delay the shipping time. Hopefully, that's correct...anyone have experience with this???

...also I miss the classic shipping label layout :'(

It does work. Just a bit scary to give it a try the 1st time. I was unclear about what it was going to do, as  it appeared it was going to change the return address as well.

Still a bit of a pain compared to the "classic view". More clicks/screens, but as shown in an earlier screen shot, it will save any zip that you ship from so that you can more easily select it in the future.

Also, remember that you can just use "general delivery" rather than looking up the street address of each Post Office that you ship from. I would expect they have that address block to fill in, as a city could have more than one zip depending upon the address.  Not that there would be any difference in the calculated shipping, but have to fill in all the possible squares.

You need to edit your ship from / return address.  The edit button is right beneath your return address  when you go to print the label.   Then go from there......

Re: How to Change Shipping From Zipcode in the 'New Flow' (Classic Shipping Gone)

I too liked the ability to changed just the zip code.   I didn't try the 'edit your address' because I don't want to change an address.  Like the old form allowed, I want to change just the zip I am shipping from.

When I switched to the classic, I was asked why I was doing it.  I mentioned the change zip option was missing.

Unfortunately, you can comment only once a day, not each time you need to make the change.

You can't change just the zip code - you can only change the entire address.

Does the zip code you want to use have the same first three digits as the one you want to change? Don't even worry about changing it if the first three digits are the same.

AS shown by green-night  the way to change the "ship from" is to use the edit

When a window opens it will give you the option to change the "ship from zip".

You can use "general delivery" as the Post Office address. Then select the city, state, zip you plan to ship from.

It does not change your return address.  The "ship from zip" chosen will appear up by the package weight just as it would when using the classic label printing.

Next time you want to print a label it will default to your normal info, but when you select edit any previously inputted "ship from zip" will be available to select from.  I have 2 in mine that I commonly do shipping from other than my Zip.

This does not change your  return address. Your "return address" remains unchanged unless you change it.

Put a check in the box that says my ship from and return are different.

And then regular ship from, and 2 alternates:

Once you have added a different ship from the "return to"  "ship from" will appears as two individual areas that can be edited.

Mine retains my address as the default for both areas as shown here when I went to print a label today.

@jennieaa Yeah, I only wanted to change the zipcode as well, not the whole address. The classic was much more easier and simple. The layout just had everything at first view, and to change the shipping from zip-code wasn't complicated. I'm going to follow the steps from @buyselljack2016 on my next shipment, hopefully it should work.

Hi @cali4nian_mtn_lion, the information provided by others in this thread is correct. I just wanted to add that the reason a full ship from address needs to be provided instead of just a zip code is due to a new USPS mandate. They are requiring that a full address be provided and will soon no longer accept just a zip code. To ensure we are ready for this mandate, the new label flow requires a full address.

Just tried it a few minutes ago, and it worked! Thank you, @buyselljack2016 . Yeah it is a little intimidating in the 'new flow', but your explanation, directions, and screenshots helped! Thanks again! 😄 appreciate it!

One thing that I do not like about it is that it shows the inputted "ship from" on the packing slip that I print.  I do not expect returns, but I cross out that address, and put my return address there to avoid any confusion.

I have had things shipped back with no contact, and just a note in the package. That would not work well with an address where I do not get mail.

I wouldn't risk doing this........I actually had something returned to my home once when I accidently shipped it from a different nearby post office....complete with a nasty post it note on it.

It had the same first 3 digits.
