I've never done a return on eBay. I only get a sale maybe once a month. I wasn't selling at all for like a year after going through a bad situation with a buyer. I was going along good though for awhile until a couple of days ago, I get a buyer complaining about an item not being as described and wanting a refund. I approved the request for return. I thought it was unfair that I should have to pay for the shipping back to me because her complaint was the item was poorly made and not what was shown in the pictures. I've been making and selling these cloth pads for years, and have never gotten a bad feedback on them. It is also EXACTLY what was shown in the pictures. But, I do this anyway because I really have no choice, and explain to the buyer that everything needs to come back to me as I sent it to her for a refund. She didn't respond to me. It's been like three days, and as far as I know, she hasn't sent it back.
People who do high volume selling - what % of people actually ship the thing back for a refund? I really just think she was trying to get a free thing, and thought it would be that easy. Is there any way that she can not send it back and get refunded?

I didn't realize how much of a difference the monitor makes until I got my other PC.
Looking at the same item side by side, it looks completely different on each monitor..

That won't do anything.

1: Doesn't work or defective
2: Doesn't match description or photos
3: Wrong item sent
4: Missing parts or pieces
5: Arrived damaged
6: Doesn't seem authentic
Even if none of those reasons are valid.
It's just what the buyer chooses. If the item doesn't fit and they choose "not authentic" you get to pay the return shipping anyway.

FREE RETURN sellers pay for the return regardless of the reason.
I can't for the life of me figure out how they got more than one seller to sign up for that.

I can see it working for a high-volume seller with new, relatively low-priced and lightweight items.

I have 30-Day (buyer paid) returns. I can still reduce the refund if it's a remorse return. Unless that's changed...
I was only commenting about paying return shipping. If the seller is a top rated seller and has 30 day returns, s/he can deduct up to 50% of a refund if the item is not returned in the same condition as it was sent.

I signed up for free returns almost five years ago. I sell vintage. I've had three returns in almost 18 years.
Works for me.
Would I have it if I sold electronics, clothes or cell phones? Probably not.

Not True. I offer 30 day returns, buyer pays. Sellers need to brush up on policy and stop spreading fake news.

If the seller gives "Free Shipping" and you post "30 days return and buyer pays return shipping", you the seller still lose your original cost to ship! "It's considered (cost of doing business)!

I've had 60 day FREE returns for almost 3 years now. (before it was required for TRSP)
There has been absolutely no increase in my return rate.
I have averaged 2 returns a year for 8 years.
What it has done is lower my SNAD return rate.
What FREE returns does is give the buyer confidence in purchasing. They know that they can return it for any reason without penalty. They don't have to "fudge" the return reason to get me to pay return shipping ... keeping me from getting INAD service metrics dings.
I averaged my shipping costs for a year and divided it by my return rate. I added a few cents per sale to my "reserve" to cover any returns.
I don't fight any returns. We are sorry that you are unhappy. We have a 60 day Free Returns policy. Please return the item for a full refund.

And THIS^^^ is how it's done.

They already have that.
...and all MBG returns are free since you pay for them whether the return is valid or not.
