As the title says, I'd like to know how long does in take on average for a regular letter shipped from Canada to arrive in the US?

I would say on the average ... about a week.

Depends on the state.

Some go really fast, others slow. 

Not sure why, but maybe the difference on how each state handles shipping.

7-10 days normally.   Sometimes quicker.

Pre-Covid I'd say ten days or so. Now...anywhere from ten days to a month.

As a mail order seller for over 30 years, I allow 20 days for delivery anywhere in North America.

 In January, the main Canada Post Terminal  at Gateway in Mississauga ON, was closed for two weeks due to an outbreak of COVID19. Over 200 of the 4500 employees of Canada Post and CBSA were off sick. More were testing positive.

They are open again and nobody died although there are still a lot of workers off on sick leave.
