How do I send an item back that I never received?

I purchased an item on 7-19 and on 7-20 I received the usual Ebay email that the item was being shipped along with a fed-ex tracking number. As of 7-27  the item still had not been picked up by fed-ex and I thought this was a little ridiculous so I put in a request for my money back. The problem is when I did the request the only option I had for that was to return the item for a refund. So being stupid I went with that option and today I get another Ebay email stating that I need to print a return label and ship the item back by 8-11 for the item that was never sent or I would lose my refund.  Is there another way to get my refund? Is there a real person at Ebay that I can talk to? Thank you for any help.

Did you reach out to the seller? Maybe they put the incorrect tracking number in or maybe it got lost in transit. Currently all shippers are having longer periods of delivering packages. I would contact the seller and ask them to look into it. If it is indeed lost then the shipper should refund you and file a claim with fedex.

Also check the tracking on Fedex's site. I know in the past with USPS eBay's tracking does not always pick it up and show movement. I've had to check the actually USPS site and FedEx to see that the package moved.

Well, you can't. You can leave the Return open until 8/10, in case it comes and you want to return it, though.

If it never arrives, you'll get one more chance with eBay... to open an Item Not Received claim one day past the seller's estimated delivery date. After that, you'll have to move to PayPal (if that is how you paid for it) and file an Item Not Received or Return claim there. 

Hopefully your item will arrive. Travel time has slowed during the pandemic...

Thank you for your help. I did pay with Paypal and the guaranteed delivery date was 7-25. I can't believe this seller wouldn't give my money back while they still have the item. This is the second time I've been taken and I'm probably done with Ebay.

The Fed-ex tracking number still shows that it has not been picked up but is in their system.

1. Walk away from the eBay case.

2. File an Item Not Received dispute at PayPal here.

3. Go back and escalate the dispute to a claim immediately. Get your refund. Done.
