How do I get a return label from a seller that acts like they don't know how to send one?

I requested a refund after receiving a dog gate that was broken in multiple places. Ebay sent me an email saying good news the seller has accepted your return and has sent you a shipping label; however, the shipping label was not there. Ebay makes it impossible to contact them now, so you can't talk to a live person. I have e-mailed the seller multiple times who continues to give me all kinds of excuses. She then asked for my email address and said she would send it to my email, then said that she could not send it to my email as it was undeliverable. She has the pictures to show the damage so she can get paid for the gate from the insurance she took out on the package. This may have even been an insurance scam. I have decided to stop buying anything on ebay due to this experience. Ebay does not care about their buyers and the sellers get away with murder. Is their anything I can do to make ebay ensure that I get my refund?

If the seller has accepted your return and not sent you a return label you do have a recourse.

eBay will do it for your automatically.

After a certain time eBay will send the seller a note telling them that since they did not send a return label as they should have then eBay has automatically sent one. I know because I had a return request which I accepted and told the buyer they did not actually need to return the item and I would send them a refund. Next thing I know is a note from eBay as described above.

It wouldn't hurt to contact CS and tell them they promised to send a label but did not. eBay will protect you.

Once I told the seller I would contact ebay, they figured out how to send the return label. The item has been returned. I am now awaiting the refund. Thank you for your reply. E-bay is very difficult to contact. They used to provide a phone number, now only prepared answers for possible solutions and not actual help. Not sure that I will continue to shop with ebay since they are not available to help the buyer.

You'll always get a return label eventually even if the seller never responds.

There's no reason to contact CS to use the MBG, it's all automated.

Next time it happens:

Go to your purchase history and click return item and select, the item doesn't match the description as the reason.
The seller will have 3 days to accept the return and pay return shipping or refund without returning.
If they don't, return to the case on day 4 and ask Ebay to step in.

Have a great day.
