Help! I need to return item number 183763682292

Seller is no longer registered how do I contact the seller? I need a refund because this is what it says we removed this listing from the site. For more information and next steps go to messages. For information about delivery, view your order details.

This user is no longer registered on eBay.

What do I need to do when I go to messages?
How can I get a refund?
There's no tracking number but the item says its been shipped.
Can the item be returned?
Thanks for any help.

Re: Help! I need to return item number 183763682292

The email you received from eBay alerting you to the fact that the user is no longer registered should have given you instructions on how to proceed. Refer to that email for your next step(s).

Essentially, if your item has been shipped, you need to wait until the estimated delivery date. If the item does not arrive, you can file a case in eBay's Resolution Center the next day. (There's a link at the bottom of every eBay page.) You will receive a refund.

Even if your item has been marked shipped @josnew-5442 you shouldn't wait until the estimated delivery date. If the item does arrive, you can repay your missing seller the next day. You can immediately click I would like to > I didn't get it next to the removed item on your Purchase history page, start a refund request, then Ask eBay to step in as soon as it is available. You will receive a refund.

Re: Help! I need to return item number 183763682292

Thanks I still want the item I ordered I just don't think it will be shipped to me. eBay said in a email it was being shipped estimated deliver Tuesday 16 but when I view the shipping for it says no estimate available so I sent a return request. Should I cancel the return request if its possible I could still get the item?

Thanks I did not received a email from eBay but eBay did send an email saying order is being shipped. It shows the item is in transit but where the shipping details would be says no estimate available. I sent a return request but I will wait until the estimated delivery date of Tuesday 16 before I go too eBay's Resolution Center .

Exactly: When eBay removes an item, it no longer has any estimated delivery, so you don't have to wait to open a case.

Image titled Ask eBay to Step in Step 3

But you should have started a refund request, not a return request, since you have nothing to return. And you cannot change a return request into a refund request.

So now, if you paid with PayPal, open an Item Not Received dispute there, then escalate as soon as it's available. Your refund will take much longer with PayPal.

Re: Help! I need to return item number 183763682292

You say you've "sent a return request," but not in eBay's Resolution Center? What do you mean, exactly? If you clicked on "Return this Item" and then clicked on a reason, etc., that was eBay's Resolution Center (or as good as). I'm not sure why you'd file a return request for an item you not only don't have but also don't even know whether you'll receive.

I'm afraid the filing of the return request was a bad idea. What reason did you use for wanting to return it?

If I'm not mistaken, once you've filed a request to return an item, you've implied that you've received it, and you cannot file for an "Item Not Received" refund. You'll find out one way or another if you don't receive the item and try to file another claim.

According to the OP, eBay has indicated that the item has already shipped. The estimated delivery date is April 16--that's why there is no option to file an INR.

The OP's gonna find the same situation in PayPal until after April 16.

Re: Help! I need to return item number 183763682292

Okay. Listen up.

The reason you did not see the option to file an "Item Not Received" case is because, according to eBay, the item has been shipped, and the estimated delivery date is not until April 16. You can't file an INR before the item's even due to be delivered.

Now, because you already filed the return request, you cannot file an "Item Not Received" case in eBay.

AFTER APRIL 16, if you've not received the item, file an INR through PayPal. DO NOT FILE THE INR UNTIL AFTER APRIL 16.

It would have been to the right (which you cut off) of your screenshot, like this:

eBay Item shipped Seller NARU Start INR.jpg

But the reason you can't start a "I didn't receive it" refund request is because you already started a "Doesn't seem authentic" return request.

As you can see in the screenshot above, eBay allows you to immediately start a refund request even when:

1. Item was shipped

2. No longer registered

3. Started a refund request

Again, you can open an Item Not Received dispute at PayPal right now. PayPal does not look at the estimated delivery dates, nor whether or not the item has shipped, to prevent you from opening a dispute; you can open a dispute 1 second after payment.

Re: Help! I need to return item number 183763682292

I cannot understand why buyers open return requests for items they have not received and as in your case, actually want to keep. How do you return something you don’t have?

So, what everyone else told is correct. I might add that you need to read the money back guarantee policy and how to make it work for you. I admit that it’s a bit dicier when the seller has been removed but you still have to follow the steps they give you.

I will add emphasis to the others who said not to close the case, even though you did it in error. What if turns out to be not as described? You won’t be able to reopen it. If you don’t get it by the estimated delivery date, call eBay and tell them you opened the wrong claim and ask them to change it to INR. Tell them the seller has been removed.
