Hello! I am pretty new, so sorry if this is topic that is talked about to death. I just read another form from a few years ago and still have some misunderstanding on how Ebay charges a handling fee. I use USPS ground advantage for some of my card listings that wont be covered by PWE.
PWE listings I just eat the additional $0.25 for penny sleeves, top loaders, team bags, labels ect. When I send via USPS Ground advantage (calculated rate) I like the option to charge for those items along with the mailer, cardboard, ect. I have an additional $1.16 added as a handling fee, but my "shipping" the buyer is paying is the same as what my labels cost. Any help with what I have wrong on my policy?

Instead of using a calculated shipping rate, you could simply assign a flat shipping rate, which would include the postage plus your handling and labor charges.
Since USPS Ground Advantage varies by location, your flat rate should be high enough to cover even shipments to the farthest locations.
You might have to experiment a few times with the flat rate amount, until you finally wind up with a charge which is low enough for your buyers, yet high enough to cover your own personal shipping costs.
Good luck!

Hey thanks for the reply! Maybe I misunderstood older forums. I thought calculated shipping was the best option as it would then add the handling fee on top. May play around with that idea.

Calculated shipping IS the best option. If you charge a flat rate for a zoned service, you inevitably overcharge some buyers and/or undercharge others. I'm sorry, I don't know why eBay is failing to add your handling fee; are you sure it's entered on the listing form?

The handling should combine itself with the shipping cost.
Maybe try business policies and see if that works.

A handling fee seems to be charged on at least one of your listings.
I entered zip 92210 zip on the 2018 Topps Now listing (item 395563436801) and it shows $5.84 for Ground Advantage. Assuming that package would be about 6 oz the eBay rate from Ohio to Cali would be $4.68 so adding $1.16 handling charge would make it $5.84 which is what it shows a buyer would pay.
You can compare how that listing is set up to the ones that you are not receiving a handling charge to see what the problem is.

You sir helped me open my eyeballs. Thank you for being so helpful and doing this. I see I myself made an error.

YES !...I have been having this problem too. ebay would incorporate the handling fee in the total invoice. Lately it is not...?

oct. 2024_The simplest ebay selling /listing form - that probably most of us use... has eliminated the handling charge box to click, and to add amt. needed. i.e. i need to charge insurance for a one of a kind item, and there is NOWHERE to add a charge to insure a handmade $2,000.00 item.
Why on earth would eBay delete the ability to collect for ins. that seller pays on shipping?
Where are these other listing formats (business?) how do you find them, if that is only place that still has handling charge. hmm perhaps eBay wants everyone to move to Business Forms --- darn it all.
