GSP may be great for the Seller, but it's hell for the Purchaser. Their shipping is notoriously slow when compared to USPS. They charge the Buyer for 'import duties' that otherwise may not need to be paid. A real rip off.
In-fact, I normally avoid listings that use the GPS service as it's needlessly slow and costly. A money grab by e-Bay.
In a recent purchase, I paid Pitney Bowes $55.17 for "import duties," Although the item imported into Canada was duty free. As the total amount of the item was refunded by the Seller, today I received a refund from Pitney Bowes (GSP "import duties).
The amount refunded was $35.74 from Pitney Bowes and another refund from e-Bay for $19.43? One might ask why $19.43 of my original payment was diverted to e-Bay for "import duties" without my knowledge. Clearly this had nothing to do with "import duties" at all and was a kick-back to e-Bay. What a scam!
I'm tempted to press fraud charges. It's not like they don't charge the Seller enough, they have to scam the Buyer as well!

I've called ebay and repeatedly complained about the GSP charges. I'm in ireland and the country I buy most from would be england. They have got the con working there too. At the time of writing this, both are Eu countries there should be no charges, import duties etc but ebay still parade that there are no extra charges like it's from THEIR benevolence bestowed on us by GSP and not because of Eu membership. That will change in the future but there will still be no charges on antique items. What are the chances the ebay will be parading around charging us for a charge that never has existed? Fairly high if history is anything to go by. I normally avoid GSP items like the plague but its become so endemic that it's getting harder and harder. And the fact that they've now made it almost impossible to alter invoices once you've signed up just shows how ingenuous they are, If your a buyer and you want to enter different shipping costs you can't. I'm going through this at the moment with a seller who will ship to me in ireland and the shipping is half what the GSP is charging. It's about a metre of cable costing £9, shipping via GSP is £17 and the item fits in a small jiffy bag and would fit in an envelope. Where is the justification for the £17 shipping?? How can they justify a rip off like that?

GSP is so expensive that you avoid buying from that vendor, but another point is that they have a list of countries that are not on the global shipping list from some countries , I am in New Zealand and if I try to buy items from the UK that use GSP it refuses the purchase saying ," your country is not on the GSP shipping list ",
