This is a new one for me. Has anyone listed an item with free economy shipping then had a shipping charge of $9.99 added at checkout? Buyer did not choose a different shipping method nor pay for a faster option.

If this is a glitch it's a bad one.

Item Listing and Purchase History invoice both show free economy shipping.

After clicking Go To Checkout the invoice changes to show a charge of $9.99 Economy Shipping.

How is this happening?

I ALWAYS list with free economy shipping, just to leave options open as far as price, but I've never had a buyer complain or seen that a 9.99 shipping charge showed up.

That's just plain weird and if a valid glitch, eBay really needs to get their act together...fast.

I sold 2 items this weekend with free economy shipping and didn't have an issue.

What state was the shipping address in? and what kind of item was it?

It might have been one of the extra fees that some states tack on, like recycling fees for electronics items, or tires. eBay does not do a good job of describing these fees or explaining them on the checkout or order forms.

ALL of the current listings for you show "free shipping".

Went back for about 10 items on your sold page and they also all show "free shipping".

Item title purchased and another one currently listed: 3.22Ct Vvs1; Near White Round Moissanite Diamond & Baguette 925 Silver Men's Ring

I bought one at auction last night and went to pay for it this morning. I have purchased from this seller before with a flat $29.99 shipping charge stated in the auction. And other with Free Economy Shipping no added charge.

Shipping from India. Free Economy Shipping stated. Is this $9.99 a customs charge or seller added to every Free Shipping sale to pay for shipping?

I have purchased from China, Israel, Pakistan and other countries in the past with no added charges.
