Forced-international shipping?

Why am I being automatically enrolled in international shipping? Shouldn’t that be a choice of the seller? I do not want to be in it. It doesn’t look like there’s a way to opt out of it. This does not make me happy at all. Can anybody tell me how they can do this without even asking me first I do not want to do it. I am not interested in doing international shipping.

Re: Forced-international shipping?

You can opt out under shipping preferences under your settings. (hover over your User ID in the top left hand corner and choose account settings.

I agree that they have no business enrolling sellers into programs like this without the seller's consent.

It should be Opt In NOT Opt out.

Re: Forced-international shipping?

When you are creating your webpage you can check United States under shipping. From that point on all your listings will be ship to United States. At one time you probably checked international shipping that is why they keep listing international shipping.

Re: Forced-international shipping?

Make sure you check each listing active & any you create or restart as the international toggle will be under the domestic shipping services.

Re: Forced-international shipping?

Can’t find what you’re talking about hovering over something and finding the shipping preferences maybe it’s because I’m on my iPad I don’t know! Although I know is, I am not happy about this at all. I want a choice in life I’m an adult.

Re: Forced-international shipping?

I always select United States because I don’t wanna bother shipping overseas, but I got that same email as a lot of other people saying that I was going to be enrolled in international shipping

Re: Forced-international shipping?

Thanks ! Fixed mine after reading your post !  I got a message from Japan buyer asking about listing.  All my listings clearly state lower 48 U.S. only shipping.  This morning listing comes up sold with international shipping ? Does anybody  ever read verbiage in our listings ?  Not a fan of forced nonsense.

Re: Forced-international shipping?

Did not know I was in international shipping until I saw the packing slips which included international shipping and vat. This has happened twice in the last week. You pay for a domestic label sent to a Glendale Heights IL clearing house address and they do the rest. So I had to opt out of international shipping and cancel and relist all my current BIN listings. I used to send all over the world when it was easy and all you needed was a customs form. Now it's domestic all the way no matter who handles it.

Re: Forced-international shipping?

Just spoke with a representative at eBay, he provide me with this link:

ebay.com/ship/prf

It allows you to opt on or out for all of your listings with some specific exceptions.

I used it and all is well.

Probably the same page as the other posts, it was just simple to get to.

Have a great day!

Re: Forced-international shipping?

Not anymore. You're forced into it permanently now if you wanna sell on eBay. What a joke. eBay says they will handle returns. Yea more like force you to make returns, charge you extra money in final value fees, extra money when people wanna scam you and you, the seller, is left with nothing at all.

Re: Forced-international shipping?

This is not new. They tried this 5/6 years ago. Sounds easy for sellers but  it's not. International buyers get **bleep** and fight the cost even though it's eBay not me setting the price. Hate it. I will not allow.
