First post here.....I NEED HELP......eBay shipping tracker not working and I'm getting hit hard !

So, I've tried to contact eBay 4 times now.....no success.  Either they act like it's been taken care of, or they just don't have anyone to help me.  They keep sending me a canned response that doesn't fit my issue.

I have a buyer who's routinely purchasing multiple items that total around $500.  She demands I ship priority FULLY insured (I'm happy to do that).  Ebay only offers up to $100 shipping---so I must physically take these items to the post office.

I also add signature restricted, as this buyer has had items stolen.  A side note, due to covid, these folks are signing FOR her (maddening all on it's own since this added feature is about $5.00).

Anyway......so for whatever reason eBay tacking system isn't registering these packages. For each and every item I have been charged as "no tracking updates".  For around 60 items now.  My percentage is down to 85% !!!

I have babied my feedback and ALLmy stats for the 10 years selling here. I've never shipped a late package even once.  This just has me in tears......watching my score fall into the depths and have zero recourse.

What can I do? is there any help for me here? thanks for listening......it felt good just to type all this out.

The SCAN sheet generates a provisional Acceptance record for each package covered by that SCAN number. The package is not actually considered to be in the hands of the USPS until it receives a direct scan somewhere within their network.

Ideally this direct scan would be at the local PO that took in the shipment, but too often the local PO skips the scan, and the packages do not get directly scanned until they reach the origin sort facility, which could be as late as the next day. If the seller's Handling time does not extend to the following day, it's possible that that's why they see a late shipping score on packages that actually went out on time.

(A tracking record showing "Origin Acceptance" or "Accepted at Origin Sort" was scanned at the origin facility and not at the local post office. The location shown in that record is the local PO from which it was assumed to be sent, but is not where the package was at the time it was finally scanned.)

(Just to cover all the bases: I trust that no one is uploading their SCAN sheet number as a package tracking number for the sold item. The SCAN sheet number has no function past the local dropoff. Only the tracking numbers on each individual package will be tracked or visible on-line beyond that point.)

It's a glitch that has been showing up since at LEAST Sept when it hit mine.  It's not HOW you populate that field with the tracking numbers (manually or otherwise)... it's eBay and the PO not talking to each other when the same number is used on multiple orders.  

The biggest issue is it's completely random  which is one of the reasons they may be having probs finding it/fixing it.  And as another poster stated in this thread SOME of the reps seem to know about it and that they have to manually go in and fix it.

And when I say random... I mean just that...  I had 4 multiple orders as one package in that time frame... it only glitched on ONE of them. I've had 75+ multiple order/1 package go out since then and the glitch hasn't hit again since then either.  The weirdest part of mine was of 416 cards 378 glitched... which wasn't a combination of ANY single order though several PTB said it was...

OP Good luck!   Email them again if you don't hear anything after the 1rst (it IS a holiday week),  tell them exactly what went wrong  ie  eBay tracking isn't showing what the PO is showing, and some one needs to go in an manually correct the issue.  Include the tracking numbers, and the order numbers so they can look them up themselves. Mention the fact that it is interfering with your TRS status.

@cleverkatcreative  Pirateship links with both eBay and Etsy, so it will upload your sales from those two sites and after label purchase, will mark your sales shipped.  I use it when I'm shipping soft packs as it uses cubic dimensions and is cheaper for soft packs.  Boxes it makes little difference.  I also use it for Etsy as Etsy gives lousy postage discounts.  Also I applied for the streamlined international 'simple export' classification which is a bit cheaper, but I stopped shipping internationally when Covid just snarled up shipping so badly.  Hopefully at some point I can resume.

@cynthealee2 ...your problem and mine are absolutely twins.  I've tried hard to explain this glitch to them (using many different word combos) now I have yours to help guide me.  And some other suggestions like the FB group and Twitter folks.

Waiting until Monday to let the holidays die down some and get caught up on my own holiday messes.  But I'll be on all this to hopefully save that TRS status.

@chapeau-noir ...very interesting ideas on shipping internationally.  I've avoided using the Global Ship program here on eBay.  I'd love to ship globally if there was a decent way.  Once all THIS is cleared up I'll be looking into it. Thanks.

HEADS UP......I was able to get a resolution to this situation by posting in the ebay business page on facebook.  Thank you to ALL who replied.  I really need to go back and read all comments again (lots of great info here) ebay sellers are the best ! ❤️

You were not dealing with eBay. The oral reps work for subcontractors somewhere in Utah not for eBay directly. They are under trained and often make mistakes, which they have no authority to correct.

Try using the social media accounts which are run by eBay employees with good training and some authority.

Write up your problem, edit it for clarity,  and then paste it into one of these forums.
