Fedex Overcharge not Credited - What to Do?

Back in June, I was charged on my invoice about $118 over what the estimated shipping cost was stated. I contacted ebay, they escalated it to the Fedex department and said that if I didn't get a credit on the next one or two invoices, that it was not decided in my favor. I have not received a credit. Is there any way I can appeal this? I basically lost $118 on a small 3 1/2 lb. package to TX. It was one of three that were shipped for the same listing. I have the reference number for the case. Thanks!

Re: Fedex Overcharge not Credited - What to Do?

Tyler, I went through that step when I contacted ebay about 2 months ago.

I didn't get the refund, and this time when I called, the representative said I should have the credit in 4-5 business days, and that it would show on the next invoice. Apparently, things had just been sitting and not progressing. Thanks.

A long while ago, when I tried to schedule a pickup via Fedex by phone, the representative told me they don't do pickups for Home Delivery in my area. Well, the closest drop off is quite far away. I mentioned it to the Fedex guy when he came by. He gave me his phone number. That's how it started.:)

Even more interesting. Thanks

I kind of get the feeling that there is some kind of incentive for the guys to pick up packages?

Even MORE interesting. I'll have to talk to my guy. He comes by at least 2 days a week, but I always take the packages to FedEx. I do know the generic stores that do FedEx/UPS etc get paid to accept packages (likes Joe's photo and mail boxes)

Re: Fedex Overcharge not Credited - What to Do?

I thought I would give a short update as it may help others. I didn't get that credit within 4-5 days so called ebay a time or two more to try to find out what was up. Finally, I was told that I didn't need to call again, that when ebay heard back from Fedex, they would send me an update. Well, they did call me one evening and told me that Fedex had told them they would send me a check directly for the $120 and that it would take 4-6 weeks for processing.

Well, just today I noticed that I have an ebay credit for the Fedex overcharge in my account, and it is actually for the full amount (149.28) I was charged for that package. Wow! So is that check going to come also, lol?

Congratulations and thanks for coming back and posting the outcome, it helps others as well.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease (albeit, it might be way of 100 phone calls).

Yes, shipped 22# at $24 fedex smart post.  Ended up with 71 lb and a $63 charge.  NEVER WILL USE FEDEX AGAIN - DID I SAY NEVER? ! ! ! !

You're doing it wrong then 🙂

If you want to figure out where the error is/was and try to get a credit (if not too long ago), post the info here: dimensions, weight, from zip, to zip.
