FedEx Shipment From Seller Stuck on "Label Created"

I have an end table I ordered on Dec. 14 that the seller claims to have shipped on Dec. 16 via FedEx. The seller is a furniture company from China that I guess has a shipping hub in Georgia (their eMails back to me appear in Chinese in the subject lines).  It is now December 29th and the FedEx tracking has not been updated beyond "Label Created" and there has been no activity for the past 3 weeks.  I live in IN so it should not take 3 weeks to be delivered such a short distance. I know FedEx has been delayed and behind but this looks like it has not even been shipped at all.

 

I tried to ask the FedEx reddit but they just directed me to a stickied comment that says if it says "Label Created" it means the seller never shipped it, period.   It has been so long now that eBay's delivery estimate window has passed, so I opened an "Item Not Received" case.  The seller contacted me back and told me to wait for the package to show up and they will "offer a discount" (unknown amount and unknown payment form of discount)  or they said they can refund the order and if the package appears, to "refuse to sign for the package" and let it be shipped back. However it looks like where it says the label is created, it would have been going FedEx Ground and it makes no mention of there being a signature required.

 

The customer service eMails look like they are pre-programmed and not an actual person so I have no idea what to do? I obviously can't refuse the order if it is dropped off while I am away. Just let them refund me I guess?

You filed a case. That's correct. Follow through on it and get your refund. 

Could there maybe have been another label/tracking number used?  It seems not likely as fedex ground doesn't take over 3 weeks. Also you contacted the seller and he said nothing about it

Similar thing happened to me except it was with the USPS here in the U.S.  In my case, the seller never sent the "replacement" items, but tried to fool me into thinking that they did to get me past the free return deadline.  I suspected it after almost two weeks of checking the tracking number that showed "label created" at point of origin.  So, I decided to initiate a return anyway before the deadline.
