Shipping FedEx will not pay any claims over 100.00 and you can't get additional insurance but it does not let you know this.

Just went through this with Fedex. I could not buy extra insurance and the items sold for $200.00. I packaged the items so carefully, marked glass / fragile all over the box! Of course, 6 out of 16 glasses broke! Fedex claim was limited to $100.00 and they determined that I would get back on 1/4 of the shipping cost??? They broke the glasses and charged me 3/4 of the amount of the shipping cost - And like you said, it is not disclosed anywhere 😞 eBay and Fedex need to disclose this somewhere!

I only use USPS
I would think that you need to be a big seller to use FedEx ( or UPS) to get a shipping discount and preferred service.
This time of year, FedEx and UPS employ many temp employees who may not care about your package like they should no matter how you mark them.
Sellers this time of year need to take a little extra care in packaging and putting "fragile" / "handle with care" / "glass" labels on package based on contents. If it is a high dollar item, you may want to buy extra insurance. That can be done with USPS.
best wishes!

This not true. You can insure your item for up to the value of the sale.

Adding Fragile, Handle with care.. ect really does no good. Youtube USPS or Fedex mail process. They are ruff on your package no matter what. ALWAYS pack your item well. No matter the item, it should not move at all. If it is fragile ALWAYS add extra packing.
Even if you are fully insured, if the item arrives broken, your customer will not be happy. It's better to prevent the damage in the first place... In the end you cant prevent complete negligence on the carrier's side but, you certainly can try to protect your assets.

I found this out the hard way too when I had my mothers items from up north, mind you these are vintage items that I would be inheriting in her passing. upon getting them, some of the items were broken & I filed a claim with Fed Ex and they would not pay the entire claim that I insured the items for; I was livid ! I swore I would never ship items of any high value through Fed Ex again and haven't ! The postal service is much better in dealing with in filing claims with for higher priced items. sad we have to find that out the hard way...…...

I didn’t have that experience last week when I sent a guitar in a hard case via fedex. I was able to insure to its full value. I also discovered that Fedex was about $25 cheaper that usps.
