Good morning everyone! I purchased a nitro rc buggy for my son for $210 + $25 shipping and when USPS showed up I had a bill for $44.46 extra postage due!!! Because the seller put that the package weighed 1 ounce when it is 15lbs+. I contacted the seller and he is refusing to refund the extra postage. I contacted eBay and they suggested sending the seller a a return request and say pay extra postage of accept a full refund return. I sent eBay another message asking about the $44.46 extra postage and they responded that it is up to the seller to refund eBay isn't responsible for extra postage so how is this buyer protection if I get charged $45 and can't get it back for something that was the buyers fault/ scam to get lower shipping cost. Any suggestions??? Thank you.

No worries. You're right, and I know that (if I were to check myself) ... I was just typing fast without a focus on precision with terminology.

@bbravo65 wrote:@orangehound...I have to say "sorry" to you first...didn't mean to correct you...but POSTAGE DUE is not COD...
...Postage Due due to shortage of purchasing postage...
...COD when a selling companies or private individual sellers sold their merchandises and shipped their packages to buyers in a binding contract that USPS on behalf of the sellers to collect the cost of purchase and shipping in one invoice from buyers...
You're right, of course, but it is eBay terminology:
Exceptions:
And unless we speak in terms which eBay can understand, any case we file is likely to go sideways.

...report the seller to eBay...what's a thief...!
...send him a message that you will report him to Postal Inspection (hotline # 1-877-876-2455)...and not a threat but please do it...create a case with US. Postal Inspection Service...and give him that case number...
...did anyone suggest that you can file a NAD case against the seller and let see how he/she reacts to it...?
