Extortionate shipping fees!

Just sold a putter on eBay to the lower 48.  The box weighed in at 3 lbs. and eBay wants $156.00 to print a shipping label.  Are you effing kidding me?

Regardless of what the answer is, done with eBay!

Re: Extortionate shipping fees!

Excessive shipping fees can be frustrating for both buyers and sellers. To address this issue, sellers should strive to offer transparent and reasonable shipping rates, considering factors like package weight, dimensions, and destination. Providing multiple shipping options or utilizing flat-rate shipping can help mitigate high costs for buyers. Additionally, sellers can explore alternative shipping carriers or negotiate discounted rates to offer more competitive pricing. Clear communication with buyers about shipping costs upfront can help manage expectations and minimize surprises. If shipping fees are consistently problematic, sellers may consider adjusting their pricing strategy or seeking feedback from buyers to find a more satisfactory solution.

Something has to be wrong with the dimensions. Can you provide a screen shot of the cost?

Re: Extortionate shipping fees!

That cost sounds like overnight shipping coast to coast. You are doing something wrong. It's quoting me $18 to Washington DC.

Re: Extortionate shipping fees!

Flat rate or not that is about right from NY to DC. I sold a Speaker Horn that was 7 pounds. One guy(from NY) almost bought it and it was quoting him $22(UPS). OP hasn't given much info, so maybe they will clarify.

Re: Extortionate shipping fees!

I just did a sell similar. It says 57 inches long. I don't play golf but I don't think a club is almost 5 feet long. He is sending priority as well. My guess is California. UPS would have been a better choice.

Re: Extortionate shipping fees!

not likely that the results will be much different.

Appears that,  as suggested by chevymonte, there is something amiss with the info inputted for the shipping label.

Or increased green because they did not make the correct approach to the green.

Hopefully they will find the error without a $$$ penalty stroke.

I have sold many clubs in the past and it should never be that expensive unless it is a extremely valuable club and you have it insured. Even at that point it seems excessive. USPS was a good choice once upon a time but i found UPS much more reasonable. Sellers must know what they are shipping before committing to a carrier or type of shipping.
