Any comments about sellers who charge excessive shipping costs? Sometimes I end up paying double the amount of the actual shipping cost of the item in the listing. How is it possible, for example, for a seller to charge $4.00 for shipping a postcard when the actual shipping cost was less than a $1.00? I know some sellers try to make money off shipping but I don't agree with it. Is negative or neutral feedback warranted?

Gouging on shipping is rampant now on ebay. As an example, I just looked at a 4" duct fan. Fan $20, ..... shipping $40! I can ship an electric guitar cross country for that. I see all these sellers replying defending their practices, claiming "handling charges". Unless your a small times seller, no one runs out for supplies or to ship ( IF the can't get pick up ) a single item Small sellers pick shipping supplies enough to last a while, so much for the time and gas excuse. And many sellers, big and small use recycled boxes etc. I use to sell on ebay often. I know what's involved. And I've seen all the shipping scams, that ebay now turns a blind eye to, like pricing an item at $1.00 and $99.00 shipping. Your item, well maybe slightly too much, $2.00 for a single card seems reasonable. If I were selling such Items I'd state 3-7 days to ship When i had several orders, then make that long walk to the mailbox worthwhile........
