Ebay buyer says that he will pay for the return shipping

Ebay buyer says that he will pay for the return shipping, and i need to give the money after the money after when he shipped it. We had a problem with the return label and stuff, and he decided to buy it himself.
What happens when he doesnt actually ship the item, and i just wait for him to ship the item and refund him the shipping cost? Will the case hold expires, and i lose the case?

You won't lose the case because they need to upload the tracking number and it has to show it was delivered to you. Ebay then gives you a few days to inspect the returned item and if everything looks OK, you issue a refund.

If they don't upload the tracking number, the case will expire and you have no obligation to issue a refund.

currently the case is on hold and i need to provide the shipping label to the buyer. But the buyer says that he will pay for it, and i will give the shipping cost later. Do i need to do something or not? Since the buyer pays for the return shipping. Will i lose the case?
