I am currently talking with ebay MSO, and they have informed me that ebay's contract with Pitney Bowes was terminated and there is no form of tracking on any Ebay Standard Envelope for the near future.
It was suggested that we (the seller) use a third party company called "lettertrack." This company offers the same ESE tracking, but for an additional 18 cents on top of the ESE label price here on ebay..... for context this would be a 26% increase in the cost of every item shipped, and require a subscription, on top of providing personal data (including access to your ebay account) to a third party. All because ebay has a lapse in coverage they did not disclose to any seller.
I personally find it reprehensible that agents are telling people to use third parties to cover an ebay lapse, and that ebay has not informed any sellers of this new reality. There was no announcement, no warning, no way to know unless you checked your recent shipments and saw no scans for yourself.
The items are still being scanned through sorting facilities, we just cannot see them. We cannot see them, because the company that reports them ebay, no longer works with ebay.
To make things sooooo much worse, the agent confirmed to me these items will not have any protections for sellers, that we are still just as responsible for tracking as we always are.. but they will "take a case by case look at providing courtesy's to sellers negatively affected by this issue"
WARNING TO ALL

The buyer vs. you sell a lot more ESE..which is why you don't have as many as the post here as items missing in action.
Also, 'repeat buyers' usually never question a late arrival ESE.
I don't know if you or the post here has the most 'repeat buyers' who are your best buyers of course...and never do an INR.
At some point in the future...a new postmaster might end some contracts with shipping services which would include USPS.

Late is better than nothing at all.. hopefully my hour plus on the phone with them about this did some good

This issue has nothing to do with USPS.. USPS doesn't even know ebay standard envelope exists unless you tell them (check my ID for a info on that dating back to 2022) .... this "tracking" is the sorting facility ping that a third party confirms to ebay. The company that did this for the last 3+ years was Pitney Bowes..... they no longer provide that information... ebay let their contract lapse and now there is no one reporting these machine pings to ebay, and thus.. we see no tracking.. this is 100% on ebay and their partners, not USPS. And believe me.. I will never defend USPS Lol.

You owe me an apology for your knee jerk "ebay does no wrong, it must be you" reply here.. especially now that ebay has confirmed what I said in my post... but I won't hold my breath lol

Hi all, we received the following message from our shipping team on this subject:
"We are aware of an issue with eBay Standard Envelope shipments not displaying tracking events on eBay. We are working to resolve this issue and are in the process of updating the display of tracking events for the impacted shipments.
If your shipment is impacted and you have an Item Not Received claim due to this issue, your item will be eligible for the included shipment protection. Additionally, eBay will automatically protect your service metrics for Item Not Received cases."

What happens when fraudulent customers take advantage of this and file INR cases even though the item is in hand? Is there some source we have to verify the scans you no longer report?

From the link I posted above........
Identifying the Issue:
The Solution:
1) Copy the 20-digit USPS First-Class Letter tracking number.
2) Go to https://trackpb.shipment.co/track/.
3) Paste the tracking number to get the detailed tracking information (thanks to Pitney Bowes).

Happy Update..... SCANS ARE BACK!.... my most recent feedback from an ESE shipment (shipped the day I posted this ironically) has scans that didn't exist 3 days ago but now show scans from the 22nd to delivered yesterday.
Not sure if ebay fixed this or it was a glitch.... but scans are back thankfully.. at least for that item lol

I still have a lot of buyers asking why the item has not shipped when I always drop them off the next day, still no tracking on some ESE orders even when checking on the Pitney Bowes site.
