I have successfully been able to ship my pokemon and yugioh cards via ebay standard envelope for several weeks now until I ran into a roadblock last night. After the buyer purchased my item (including paying the standard envelope rate), I was unable to select the ebay standard envelope option when printing the label as it says "Items in this category and price range are not eligible for eBay standard envelope." I'm pretty sure I made the listing the exact same way as all of my other cards that were sold. I made sure to check my listed packaging weight and dimensions and they are well below the minimum requirements. I ended up calling customer service and they were not able to figure out why I was not able to select this. I explained to them that I have been able to do this many times before last night. She just kept saying that this only qualifies for sports cards but I kept having to repeat myself that I have been shipping pokemon cards for several weeks now and that it is "trading cards" not just sports. I actually just sold a card this morning too and had no issues. I called them back and now they gave an excuse that potentially the buyer's address is wrong or it could be a site issue, but they were not 100 % sure. They even said to try a different browser. Nope, still not working. They recommended me to cancel and relist the item and contact the buyer. The customer service reps don't even sound like they know the ins and outs of this new option. This was nice while it lasted, but if I continue to run into this issue with my other 200+ listed cards, I'm going to be furious.

This issue is not resolved.
I contacted Ebay's CS 4 times about this issue and there is no clarity from the CS agents nor has it been resolved. Last week I sold one lot of 10 Pokemon cards last week. I met all the requirements: envelope size, weight, price point, and category. I called CS and asked if it was the category since I had listed under Toys & Hobbies > Collectible Card Games > CCG Mixed Card Lots. After going through the whole explanation and me dismissing the ridiculous suggestions from the agent, It seemed that the agent didn't know and said it was a glitch and recommended I cancel the order. Then I contacted a new agents on Ebay's CS through Facebook and the Agent said it was a glitch and confirmed that the category (above) was a valid category and should allow me to purchase an Ebay's standard envelope. The agent issued me a voucher for the cost difference of shipping it via First Class. So I did not cancel the order. Agent said the issue would be fixed soon. Then, I sold another lot today. I contacted an agent on Facebook. And after going through the same explanations... the agent tells me that this is not an issue anymore and said I should print using bulk shipping and that it would work. She ended the chat before I could verify (...thank you for contacting eBay). That did not work. I called another agent via phone. The new agent said that it was a category issue and that I should've listed under the category Sports Cards. Insanely ridiculous. Pokemon Cards under Sports cards? Really? The responses or suggestions from the agents some times make me laugh. He suggested I cancel the order. After politely explaining that this issue would reflect bad on Ebay and my store from the customer's point of view. Then the agent credited my account for the cost of shipping the lot in first class.
However... The ISSUE is not resolved. I had to end all my other Pokemon listings. I searched online and it's not clear in what EXACT categories can I use the Ebay's Standard Envelope. The rollout communication that I saw from Ebay in regards to the Standard Labels says I could use the Standard Envelop with Trading Cards. One of the agents assured me that Game Cards Like Pokemon cards are also considered trading cards.
So at this point I guess I can only use Standard Envelopes when I sell sports cards?

I just got off the phone w eBay. I was told that option is suspended due to complaints, and that they are trying to resolve. No help on the fact that you can still select this option when you list, and any existing auctions will have to be changed. No answer on why this isnt being communicated. Who knows what to believe.

I listed a trade/post card a month or so ago with eBay standard envelope shipping selected. Same thing just happened to me, I try to ship & it's not allowing me to select eBay standard envelope to print a shipping label. I'm gunna slap a stamp on it ..... .9 oz ...screw it ...not my fault ...tired of taking losses.

I just sold an item that before I was also able to use the option, and that the customer requested, and it will not allow me to select that option. Since clearly it is a glitch with ebay, they should have let sellers know so we could have changed our listings ahead of time, so we are not losing our money (while they still profit from our fees etc).

I had a blank vintage postcard that I was able to ship inside standard envelope and I also had small sticker that I was able to ship before as well. I am now having to just put forever stamp on the envelopes and tell customer there won't be a tracking number.

Same issue here. Literally the same listing just a new card and the option disappeared.

One thing I found is I cant print standard envelope from my app. It doesn’t give me the option. But I can from eBay classic site on my phone.

same issue here - clearly listed item correctly to get the ebay trackable stamp feature for a $2.00 sticker listing. and gee, it's greyed out - both on desktop AND phone. Greedy krappy ebay just keeps taking more and more and can't even provide simple service. THESE are things that have me decide i'm just about done with ebay after 23 years.
I too have simply sent inexpensive tiny light weight items by postage stamp in the past, and i've never had a problem with dishonest cheats saying they didn't get something.

Your listings are for playing cards, not trading cards. That category does not qualify for ESE @sues**sales. Not a technical issue.
