I have successfully been able to ship my pokemon and yugioh cards via ebay standard envelope for several weeks now until I ran into a roadblock last night. After the buyer purchased my item (including paying the standard envelope rate), I was unable to select the ebay standard envelope option when printing the label as it says "Items in this category and price range are not eligible for eBay standard envelope." I'm pretty sure I made the listing the exact same way as all of my other cards that were sold. I made sure to check my listed packaging weight and dimensions and they are well below the minimum requirements. I ended up calling customer service and they were not able to figure out why I was not able to select this. I explained to them that I have been able to do this many times before last night. She just kept saying that this only qualifies for sports cards but I kept having to repeat myself that I have been shipping pokemon cards for several weeks now and that it is "trading cards" not just sports. I actually just sold a card this morning too and had no issues. I called them back and now they gave an excuse that potentially the buyer's address is wrong or it could be a site issue, but they were not 100 % sure. They even said to try a different browser. Nope, still not working. They recommended me to cancel and relist the item and contact the buyer. The customer service reps don't even sound like they know the ins and outs of this new option. This was nice while it lasted, but if I continue to run into this issue with my other 200+ listed cards, I'm going to be furious.

Was the problem with item 313401787995? The other listings I checked are listed in Collectible Card Games - Individual Cards. But that listing is in Collectible Card Games - Complete Set so I suspect the category is the problem.

Your listing category needs to start with "Sports mem, cards & fan shop" otherwise you can't chose the new label

I don't think that is true but it has to be in a category for single cards. The op did not have a problem using the new label with their other listings that were in toys and games - single cards. The new system is for trading cards which aren't always sports related.

I see that now. Ebay customer service couldn't even specify that this was the exact issue. But when you make the listing, if your weight listed as over 3 oz, this shipping option doesnt even show up. If I accidentally selected the wrong category, this new shipping method shouldnt show up either. I'm going to have to check all of my listings now. Thanks.

The card has to be in an approved category, not just sports cards. It works in TCG, and non-sport cards, but if you 2nd category your item to cross promote into a non-approved category it will not let you print the label.

This is actually really frustrating. I just paid 3.22 to ship a 2 dollar card because one of my cards had:

Toys & Hobbies > Collectible Card Games > Other CCG Items

The other, which had: Toys & Hobbies > Collectible Card Games > CCG Individual Cards allowed me to choose it just fine.

I'd originally copied that listing from another person using the "Have one to sell? Sell now!" button.

I realize that's my mistake but there's no way to fix it... which I understand why they wouldn't want to but it's obvious my listing is a card if you look at it. It'd be nice if ebay had SOME other way to remedy it. I wouldn't have even listed a 2 dollar card with 51 cent shipping if I'd have known I couldn't use the standard ebay label.

But unfortunately, like everything with eBay selling, the devil is in the details. You gots to study and learn how eBay is running their program with exclusions, fine print and 'how it works!"

Best I can tell from early returns is that the Standard Envelop is no panacea. You want proof of delivery, use the real tracking. Scammers are gunna wake up to the act there is no GPS location of where a car was delivered. Oh eBay insures sellers, but gotta wonder how long this program lasts. Right now it is in a 'live' trial and MAY expand to other categories.

I had this issue with the purchase of a card I have multiples of. SAME LISTING I have sold several cards with no problem now ONE is not letting me select standard envelope with the same message OP received. What’s going on??

I am now having the same issue. I have sold over 100 cards with PWE and now I can not select it. This seems to be a new issue/change.

I am also having the same issue this morning. This worked fine yesterday and my cards are in the right category and not cross-listed (I don't even know how to do that). Please help! I'm going to take a loss on every sale that I've made.
