EBay’s new tissue paper is not working for me.

I use my quarterly $25 eBay Supplies allowance to buy their tissue paper.  I sell mostly dishes and glassware and I wrap each piece in the ebay branded paper before bubble wrap, packing peanuts, etc.  The only choice for tissue paper now is brightly colored, basically solid colors.  Twice now I have had buyers contact me upon receiving their items saying “You sent me the wrong plates!  These are multi-colored and I ordered white!”  Then I have to tell them to take off the wrapping paper!  Can you believe it?  I guess they see the colored paper through the bubble wrap and can’t figure it out.  Anybody else having this problem?

I don't have a store, so I do not get a coupon nor do I buy eBay-branded supplies.

I ship my records and CDs sandwiched between pieces of plain cardboard.

No buyer has ever contacted me to say that they received a record with a plain cardboard cover.

Lots of buyers that aren't very smart out there.  I don't know that there's much you can do other than pay for white tissue paper if you feel it's worth it.  I doubt eBay is going to switch back based on your feedback, but you may have the option of sending them a message through the order (it'll go to whatever vendor sells it, which may or may not be eBay itself) and suggest they switch back, but I would guess they at least think more people want colored tissue paper or they wouldn't have switched.

We use thicker brown packaging paper ourselves, but it's that's because it's suitable for books, dunno about for your dishes and glassware.

Does the tissue provide any sort of protection?

Not sure different paper would help that issue......     The bubble wrap will be good enough so the tissue is not needed.

Dollar stores have white tissue paper available - since the eBay supplies store does not.

I definitely wouldn't use that.  Other than the problem you mention, I wouldn't trust it not to bleed on my item.  I've read it won't, but I'm not going to chance it.

White paper towels at the grocery store might work and maybe cheaper. Just an idea.

I also like the idea it is white and not colored.

Who's to say the coloring on the paper won't affect something white where some of the coloring comes off the paper and on the white item. Just thoughts.

Whenever I moved I packed dishes and breakables in paper towels and then had tons of paper towels to use for cleaning later.

Never.  I wrap my fragile items first in the tissue paper, then wrap THAT in a sheet or two of newspaper.
