lately have missed seeds and sim cards shipped with just a stamp or two and no tracking; which is a hassle as sellers did send a pic via ebay message of an enveope with name written on it and stamp as 'proof' of shipping, which made me let it go as probably just sloppy misdelivery by local mailman/lady/person.
likewise with bluecare express the tracking # is actually entered by an amazon dropshipper so any unscrupulous dropshipper with an ebay account could potentially be jacking up their profit by testing marking some % of its sales as delivered without ever having shipped or with tracking for another concurrent order in the same zip etc.. hoping some % of buyers don't bother disputing the bogus seller-administered 'delivery confirmation'!
so was wondering with tangible items don't they HAVE to be either picked up or delivered with tracking? or is it okay with ebay for sellers to basically just say they dropped it off?
i did receive a plant personally hand-delivered by the ebay seller once despite listed as priority mail, but that was years ago =S
reference to ebay ship policy somewhere would be splendid; thx in advance, lovely community!

sellers take chances and use a letter with a stamp
most purchases come with a guarantee of delivery so if you really wanted that item and did not get it you can file for an item not received and get your money back.
in the last year they started the low cost tracking under a dollar for items under $20
lots of sellers have started to use it ,its only for certain categories
I think this new system is going to replace the stamp..its around the same price I think

eBay does not require sellers to ship with tracking and delivery confirmation. But without delivery confirmation, the seller has no protection against an "Item not received" claim, regardless of any evidence such as an image of the addressed envelope. If your item doesn't arrive, just file a claim for "Item not received."
Here's eBay's buyer protection policy, which they call the "Money Back Guarantee":

thats awesome news & info, 1t & np!
havent sold anything since b4 lockdowns but will look into it the 'low cost tracking under a dollar for items under $20' seems enticing to start back
as the big downer was paying $3+ ship on a $3 sale of seed just to have ship recorded!

As noted in the original reference, this shipping option is available in only a few categories.

What if the seller wanted more on the item bidded for and pretends he shipped it with no tracking, so they can try to resell it for a higher price after refunding you your money?

If you don't receive the item, you can file a claim for "Item not received" and if the seller doesn't have delivery confirmation then you are entitled to a full refund. This works the same way regardless of whether the seller shipped with tracking or not. Here's a link to eBay's buyer protection policy, which they call the "Money Back Guarantee":
