Ebay switched my shipping labels page without any notice yesterday and now it takes 10 times as long for me to print a label, It would be fine if I sold one item a day but I cant do this for 50+ transactions a day , it would take me an additional 2 hours of my time to print these labels
I see on the top of the page there is a "Switch to classic" option but you have to keep clicking it each time you print a label!
Anyone here or an ebay rep know how to override this option to make the classic feature my default???
Very aggrivating with all these suprise changes ebay hands to us all the time !
I want to go back to the label page as pictured:

The new method is very time consuming and requres so many addition steps! I cannot imagine anyone preferring this metod.

Does everyone realize that there are other sites where eBay sellers can purchase labels? eBay makes money on these postage sales, and if eBay thinks so little of sellers that they can't provide a well-designed interface that works properly, then there are many other businesses that will be happy to take our postage orders ... and, they integrate with your eBay account.

If eBay continues to mess up the label system, especially if they no longer provide access to the options that are available only on the "Classic" version, then we can expect an exodus to stamps.com et al. similar to the episode a few years ago when ebay was charging the retail prices for First Class packages for a while.

Good to see I am not the ony one who thinks the "upgrade" is a bad idea. The eBay think tank is a lot like the engineers I used to have to deal with. Good idea on paper, bad idea in the field.

Guess they fixed it, changed a day or two after I posted

Some engineers are like that, but not all. I used to be an engineer in the corporate world, and was constantly wary of the new things that "we" supposedly asked for, as explained by the higher-ups. Usually there was no improvement and performing the core task was far more difficult. That's what I see here. I was on vacation last week and found that I am now seeing the new form by default. The old form showed all I needed to see on one screen, and everything made sense. Now I can't trust what inititially shows by default to match what is on the listing as the stated shipping method. I have to scroll so much more and click on more things. Then, when the label is displayed, I cannot set my margins to make the label and receipt print in the right areas of the page (to match my pre-scored adhesive labels) like I could with the "classic" page. I don't understand this need to fix things that aren't broken. One thing that has always been really smooth for me was printing shipping labels.

i'd love to know who asked ebay to make a system where you could not go from usps to fed ex and also have a system that replaces a small easy to use drop down menu with a ton of scrolling and then when your finished you cant even press "ship next item".
I sometimes wonder if eBay employees actually hate eBay sellers and constantly try to make everything more difficult and expensive

- The new form commandeers at least double the vertical screen space of the old one, then does nothing with it. You have to scroll or page down through acres of whtespace to complete the form.
@a_c_greenand @jmacds (and others) have all complained about the inefficiency, screen space, and additional pointing and clicking. I agree 100%.
I've seen this over and over during 30 years in tech. The newbie gets an assignment he or she is not prepared for. They fall back on the last thing they saw in college, and a month later report to an over-worked boss that "it's done." Boss never gave clear objectives in the first place, and doesn't bother to look critically at the result (and probably would not recognize good work anyway). On to the next task.

Speaking of which, I have yet to see any clear, coherent explanation of why the Shipping form needed replacing in the first place. Exactly what problems did the old form have? How are they addressed in the new one?
For example, quite a few years back now, the old My eBay page used to have the Sign Out link in plain sight at the top of the screen. That was replaced by a new, extra layer stuck into the upper left corner, requiring you to open a pulldown menu in order to find the Sign Out link at the bottom. Needless to say, this took more time and manipulation to do in a hurry, especially (especially) if using the page on a mobile touchscreen device. (As for why you'd need to sign out in a hurry, try spotting a hot deal while in your seller account, and having to rush out and in again to get to your buying account and snag it before someone else does.)
The excuse that was given back then was that burying the Sign Out provided more space at the top of the screen. The reality was that you could fire a cannon at the new page and probably not hit anything; there was no visual need to take a functional, one-click page operation and make it dumber, less intuitive and more complicated, in a neverending project to have as much whitespace as possible.
(Digression alert: I've always wondered why oversimplified "mobile" versions of web pages are always thought to be so necessary, when modern smartphones have such high-resolution screens that it's easier to just zoom in on the "classic" or original desktop version of the page and use that on your Droid or iPhone instead.)

Yikes, when I click Switch back to Classic version, I get the sorry the page that you want is not available. Ebay , this new change totally sucks. You need to fire the clown that designed it and the moron (s) that approved it. It takes too long to print with this new page. I can't print in a smaller size. Was this new improvement done because ebay owns stock in printer ink companies? Do they think that sellers will flock ebay to buy more printer ink? I can tell you right now, that I will only buy printer ink on ebay if it's ONLY available through ebay!!! BRING BACK THE CLASSIC SHIPPING PAGE AND STOP MESSING WITH THE SITE....
Sellers , go to ebay's FACEBOOK PAGE and bash them there. This is a change that is NOT necessary. I plan on doing this later when I get home.

Arrrrgh! It's so horrible!
But they have added an option to purchase insurance from USPS.

Just above the big blue Purchase button is a "Change format" option that gives you smaller paper sizes that surely would require that the label area must be reduced. I don't recall if this has always been there, as I have exited the form ASAP in the past. I have always just used my printer settings if I needed to reduce the label size.
