Just to vent a little. I read a few negative reviews about a seller I’ve used many times. “Shipping cost rip off, making profit on shipping”.
Well these really irk me because as a fellow seller, I know how much these items cost to ship and this seller is very fair.
Buyers.....shipping is NOT just the postage, there’s time (handling), packaging supplies and getting the packages to the shipper (if you don’t have a pickup service)
AND.....shipping cost is clearly marked on every listing. If you think it’s too high....DON’T BID.
Grow up!

Agree with you, if I miss high shipping, my bad. It’s just that it complicates the buying process unnecessarily. And there are less scrupulous sellers who use high shipping to sneak a better price through. But, like you I adhere to buyer beware and leave emotions out of the bidding. Have your value and stick to it, bidding wars are for suckers and then add shipping cost on and you’re overpaying.

On the surface of it, it seems unfair for EBay to do this. But, it’s a way to keep sellers from charging very little for the item and a huge shipping fee. If you keep the shipping as close to reality as possible and buy your postage thru EBay they discount the postage which comes close to offsetting the FV fee assed on shipping.

Exactly correct. Keep shipping fair, purchase postage thru EBay which discounts postage quite a bit and you pretty much offset the FV fee on shipping. I know I was amazed how much more postage is bought at the post office vs thru EBay.

If you ship internationally and use the EBay global shipping program, you should only pay shipping to the facility here in the U.S. the rest is charged to the buyer overseas. And, if an overseas buyer wants your item, they should pay the cost. Like you, I’ve sent many an item abroad and sometimes wonder what they are thinking.

I loved your comments and I’ve had the same experiences.
All I ask is; EBay, back the sellers for a change and start holding buyers responsible for their decisions!

Was this a GSP shipment?
There is a chance that you could get the negative removed if the shipping is as stated in the listing and the buyer asked you to lower it and gave you a neg for not doing it.

Thanks.
When the shipping cost is clearly right there in the listing, then yes, ebay should back sellers...it's the only right thing to do.
If what shows in our description means absolutely nothing....what's the point of writing an accurate description??.....or for that matter, writing anything at all.

You’re comment regarding First Class is correct about being cheaper, but there’s no insurance. Cheap items, ship First Class; but more expensive items it may be worth the little extra for priority and get the insurance.
STILL, buyers KNOW what the shipping is from the listing....buy....then complain anyway.
Ebay needs a policy change. Negative feedback for shipping costs that are clearly posted SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED!
AND, nubes....grow up, and please learn to read.

I loved your response. EBay policy needs to change. Perhaps nubes should not be allowed feedback privileges until after a given number of purchases. Basically putting them on a probation period.

The requesting option is pretty much a joke. I’ve found calling EBay gets better results and surprisingly getting to a real person is actually easy. If nothing else, you feel better, because I think those electronic requests and comments go to some cloud somewhere to die.

To the OP - Are you the boss's unknown never knew of brother? (which would be a good thing) because you sound just like him. If you look at our replies to feedback left you will see we used to leave statements like "4lb to your zip = PRICE WE CAN'T CHANGE-Yet you ding our S/H star-THANKS so much" and "Shipping cost shown BEFORE you bid-Too high?-THEN DON'T BUY and complain later" -- I say 'used to leave' because when ebay took away the DSR reports he had us just stop leaving feedback -"I ain't thanking somebody who could be lying to my face so no fb for anybody"

Call the Ebay Customer service and the neg feedback will be removed...and also report the buyer...
If in your listing postage is mentioned very clearly it is buyer's fault...If he think that the postage is high ...then why he bought the item?

Back in the day what you signed up for was more like a real "Membership" for the privilege to use ebay's site.
Fast forward to today, it's run more like a store on the street...letting any Tom, dick and harry in, even as a guest.
This creates a lot of new "members" who really don't understand what it means to be an "ebayer".
