Customer Support has placed my case on hold. Why?

I recently returned some item I purchased, the items were not authentic so I had to return them. With this pandemic + the holidays, most USPS shipping services have been delayed. My return showed tracking information but at some point the information has not been updated and it has been like 4 weeks since the last update. I asked eBay to step in and now I only see this:

"eBay Customer Support has placed the case on hold until Jan. 8 to allow time to provide additional documentation."

You provided tracking that shows the item is currently on its way to the seller."

Does this mean I have to provide additional information? If so, what kind of info because all I have is the tracking number from the package I returned but no progress is shown. I really hope you folks help me out with this question. Thank you!

Go to the USPS web site and open a package search request, in most cases that will get your item moving again within 48 hours or so. It may take a bit longer at the moment, they are pretty backed up.

I believe this means that eBay has given an extension of time for the item to be delivered back to the seller.

well the seller has not got their stuff back:

I have no idea on what other info they would need:

The additional documentation is tracking showing Delivered.

When that happens and USPS gets package back to the seller then your return and refund can be completed.

@soccer_sportz You are misinterpreting this. Your case has been extended to allow for delivery of your returned item. You are not being asked for anything at this time. If you were being asked you would receive an email from eBay through the messages explaining exactly what they would need. Stay positive that all will work in your favor, things are crazy with USPS these days. Best of luck to you....

Re: Customer Support has placed my case on hold. Why?

Me too.

eBay Customer Support has placed the case on hold (10 day intivels). The seller provided documentation that your item is currently on its way to you. You should get it soon.

Every ten days, the wait just extends by another ten days. My CD from Chicago attempted delivery to Australia on 26 Oct and went back without a "sorry we missed you" card from Startrack. Upon investigation, Australia Post says it had something to do with the label on the package, and that I needed to talk it out with the sender. Unfortunately Startrack was the forwarder over east, and my package just laps and hangs around in one spot for 2- 4 weeks at a time. The label on the package has something wrong with it which causes the scanners to missread it and make it go all over the place, and this is why I want a refund. I'm just getting another ten days added to the wait every ten days. This is unacceptible. Amazon is better than this. I'm fed up with this bleep**. Amazon resolves claims within 1- 2 days. eBay just bleep**s around. Don't bother getting them to step in and help on your next case. They don't help. Don't waste your energy like I did.
