Couple things to be aware of

Been going round with USPS over them not showing chain of possession by scanning the parcel upon initial pick up and the carrier was stopped today with the out going items and said they cannot scan more than 5 items and watched his scanner stop at 5...so make sure a that your carrier scans your item upon pick up so they are responsible from that point, otherwise you are on the hook and cannot even file insurance claims.

and create a manifest and make sure they scan them as ebay holds you responsible for USPS doing their job.

Secondly

If you as I do list and sell parts for cars and use the compatibility chart listing apps...you had better go back a keep rechecking what you checked as ebay keeps playing games and changing things...I been watching this and today I had to revise one item to add qty and checked the compat listing and at least 1/2 or more were unchecked...that WERE initially check...you say so what? Well it makes it harder  to sell if a buyer thinks it does not fit his app....and...also flies in the face of ebay "guaranteed fitment" brainchild...and can and will cause confusion....

I don't have that issue because I go directly to the PostOffice they scan every package I have no matter how many and give me a receipt.

Use a scan form and he only scans once for all your items.

Finally someone linked to it! Thank you, but I'm still confused.

It says: Once you’ve purchased your labels, the system will default to close out and print your SCAN form.

But this is through "Click-N-Ship" which I assume is some type of USPS online postage system you need a separate account for. How do you get the eBay discount AND get the SCAN form to automatically print out?

Is there a How-To on eBay anywhere? I've looked and I haven't found it. I've asked people who've brought up the SCAN forms, on these boards, and never been answered.

This discussion from an eBay podcast mightt help:

Here's the eBay SCAN form page:

FYI, the 5-scan limit is an old rule, just rarely enforced. Sounds like it's now being incorporated into the scanners themselves.

Implemented about 10-12 mos ago if my memory is accurate. This forum was flooded with posts and several mentioned watching carriers scan, hit the 5 item limit, then have to start fresh. But most were upset because carriers refused to scan more than 5 items.

I gotta have more cowbell.

I take my packages directly to the post office and place them on the counter or designated bin for prepaid packages and they will scan them all no matter how many there are. I've had the postal workers at the post office try to sell me on using the scan forms to make their task easier but it's additional work and time for me and I'm concerned about the implications of combining them together. Sometimes they scan an item as delivered instead of as being received at the post office and it ruins the tracking for the rest of the trip but at least it usually effects only one or two items; now if they did the same by scanning a single sheet wouldn't it mess up every single item on the list?

Really depends on where you are. My main post office has been enforcing it for quite a while because it's a highly-trafficked post office in the middle of a very large city. The smaller post office near where I work will always scan no matter how many packages you have because they have a much lower volume of traffic (the only people who really use that one are the people from the nearby offices and stores/restaurants).
