We were recently notified that USPS was charging us extra money for 2 shipping labels from late in March. One, a small flat rate box, was supposedly a large flat rate. The other, a Regional Rate A was supposedly a Regional Rate B. We were 100% positive that we purchased and printed the correct shipping for the size boxes we were using. We contacted the number given for USPS. It turns out that they were having "some trouble" a couple of weeks ago with those boxes in particular (small flat rate and RRA) and they will look into it for us. If they determine that we purchased and paid correctly, they said we will see a refund from eBay - that we will not hear from USPS.
I'm just posting for anyone else who may have been affected by this error (and possibly other size boxes?)

There have been a few threads about the problems with those specific boxes, IIRC they are in the discussion boards for Sellers and Shipping. The problem seems to be a USPS programming error.

I received a notice from eBay yesterday about the exact same problem. I have not contacted USPS as I did not think there was any point in it, but after seeing your post I will contact them!

I will add this to my list of reasons to give up on epay.

So far it's happened to me 3 times in the last 4 days. 1 package they said weighed 1lb 9oz and it only weighed 3oz as I shipped 2 eyebrow pencils. The other 2 were regular priority mail they said the weights were off by 3oz which would not change the price of 1 weighed 1lb 8oz and they said it weighed 1lb 11oz and the other I had it at 4lbs and they said it weighed 3lb 14oz so the price would not change. I have filed disputes with the post office as you can just email them and the email address to send it to is in the email you received from ebay. It's just a big waste of time but at this rate they owe me $11.00.

I received a notification a USPS cost adjustment when I was using a small flat rate box. I knew without a doubt that I had not messed up, my item was tiny and a flat rate box was what I used.
I contacted the number given, a very nice person answered quickly took my information and said it was an error and eBay would refund. On April 4, 2019, "eBay Inc Shipping refunded $5.14 USD from your purchase on March 20, 2019". So making the phone call is a good idea.

I ship around 300 or more boxes a week with ebay. I keep getting charge backs from the "A" box. The charge backs in some cases is more than the profit that would have been made. I called the number for the Postal system and yes the lady was nice but said it was not their problem and that is was an eBay problem and to contact them (877-322-9227). I have now called 3 times and was told that because no one else or VERY FEW people call to complain that it was considered "very low priority" and to keep filing claims which when you ship high volume is very time consuming. Being they have my credit card info the Post Office has full control and take money any time they want and how much they want. eBay told me to stop using eBay shipping labels which the discounts I get by using eBay shipping labels are very much factored into the profits. NOT HAPPY and more people need to call eBay to complain. To make a complaint call 877-322-9227 and that is the main ebay help line. This has been going on for around 3 Months now.

So true, however it is another frustration from the U.S.P.S.
