Confusing Return Request open/closed/messaged request

This morning a buyer opened a Return Request (doesn't fit) and it was automatically approved

A  couple of minutes later the buyer closed the Return Request

Five minutes after that, the buyer messaged me (on eBay) saying that she cannot use the eBay Return Process because she doesn't have a Paypal account and asking me to provide her with my address to return the item.

I phoned eBay, and the CSR said that I should go ahead and provide my address and that then I could refund the payment IN PAYPAL and phone eBay with the transaction number to get my final fee refund.

Does this make any sense?

If the buyer doesn't have a pp account, how are you going to refund them?

I don't know why they would close the return just because they couldn't purchase the return label.

Maybe they thought they had to use the Ebay label to use the return process.

Have a great day.

Apparently buyers who can pay using Paypal despite not having a Paypal account, can be refunded the same way, back through Paypal to their original payment source.

Don't know if anybody's noticed, I didn't - BUYER REQUIREMENTS no longer lets you automatically block buyers who don't have a Paypal account.

But no, it doesn't?Remorse request redirects to PayPal to buy return label.jpgeBay took it in their account.

Which doesn't follow that the buyer would have a PayPal account when the buyer paid instead with a debit/credit card at eBay Checkout.
