Cheapest and/or Best way to ship giant stuffed animals/plush

I won both of these at my local fair at a game that I'm really good at.  So far, I've tried listing them on craigslist and letgo (I would try offerup, but I was banned from their services for no reason) for $49.  So far, no one has contacted me letting me know they want them, though I got a favorite for the Unicorn on Letgo, so I'm thinking of selling these on eBay possibly because I could get more potential buyers.

What service would you recommend for me to use to ship these as cheap as possible?  I called Fedex, and depending what zone it goes, it would be around $38-53 to ship unicorn.  Keep in mind, the unicorn is around 10 lbs, and I assume the teddy bear weighs even less.  I'm willing to put these in a plastic bag if it will save me money.

I think the issue of selling those stuffed animals on eBay is that they are carnival/arcade plush.  They don't have a name brand and the shipping charge even for economy will be very expensive. It would be helpful to see what is currently being sold and check the sold items as well. You still need to package them well enough to prevent shipping damage and consider the possibility of returns.  We have a number of these giant stuffed animals that my daughter won at the casino arcades in Las Vegas and can't even give them away. I hope you have better luck.

I’ll give them away if I can’t sell them. Sorry if I insulted any of you. I’m just trying to find out what the best way to sell them is all. All of your replies have been helpful.

It really depends on what the stuffing is on how much they can be squished. Feel the stuffing. If you pinch the animal and rub thumb and fingers together does it feel slippery inside. If so this kind of stuffing will bounce back. I would think the bear would have this kind. The unicorn may have cotton stuffing to support it's more structured shape. This kind can stay compacted and would be difficult to get it to return to it's original shape. If so I wouldn't try to compact it down.

Have you tried Facebook Marketplace? I, if the item doesn't need electricity, meet buyers and sellers outside of our local police station in the Salvation Army parking lot that is next door. If I am picking up something large or that needs tried out I grab my son-in-law to go with.

I see a large unicorn like yours listed on eBay for $49.99 or Best Offer, local pickup only in San Francisco. It looks like it was relisted, since it is also the only one that comes up when searching Sold. There are smaller ones that have sold.

I see the same size unicorn on eBay going for $90 plus $127 shipping. I’m surprised most people here are telling me to only just sell locally. I don’t know for sure if I’ll sell on eBay or not, but if I do, what would be the cheapest method to ship these stuffed animals?

Go to some websites and enter your weight and dimensions to get an idea of the costs.

One more thing to keep in mind is you will be on the hook for that shipping cost if for any reason your buyer finds an issue and files a return.

What you are attributing to lack of motivation, I call being practical and sharing from experience.

No one is insulted. You are doing ok, we are just having a discussion. People like to discuss on these boards. 🙂  Btw, someone listing it for a high price and then actually selling it are 2 different things.

To answer your question to determine price, weigh and measure each item, call around to see if you can buy a box that big. Include the weight of the box in your measurement, then go on the different websites, USPS, FedEx, UPS, and they all have calculators to determine the cost of shipping based on weight and size. Google other shipping methods available to you in your area to see if there are any other alternatives. Be sure to include the cost of the box in the cost.

Good luck with whatever you decide.
