Hello!
The item that I ordered is not working so I initiated a return process. The seller accepted it but I got an email from eBay that the seller cannot send me the return label and that I have to contact them. I contacted them and ask them to tell me where I should send it and they asked me if I can check how much are the shipping costs to a specific address. I am confused about this request. Doesn't seller already know the costs since they already shipped it to me? I have to ship the item in two days at latest so I am wondering whether this request is some kind of a scam/attempt to make me be late with the shipping and if I should ask eBay to step in.
I have not ever returned any item so far so I am not sure how this whole process works. Am I the one who needs to pay for shipping if the seller does not send me any return label? Do I get a refund for that?
Thank you in advance!

Go to the resolution center at the bottom of the page. Open a Significantly Not As Described item case. The seller will then be forced to send you a return label.
The seller is aware of this and they are playing games with you, wasting your time. You only have 30 days after receipt of item to open a case in ebay. After opening the case follow the directions in the case. You do not have to be in contact with the seller. They have done you no favors o it would be in your best interest to cut off all contact with them. Ebay does not require you to stay in contact with the seller.

You are in Austria, if this was a transaction out of your country, the seller cannot send you a return label, and must pay you the return shipping fee thru Paypal.

Do I have to return it through the same shipping company (mail service) that they ship it to or not?

Your seller is correct - you need to let him know how much it will cost to ship from your location to his address. The amount to ship from the US (or wherever he is) to you, is not the necessarily the same as it will cost to send the item back to him. When you tell him how much it will cost, he should send you the money via Paypal or eBay Manage Payments so you do not need to pay for the shipping out of your own pocket.
