The message above is what displays when trying to upload a tracking number to a return request.
Should I continue trying to add that tracking #? I have been trying for a few hours and get the same result. I'm not up for 5 hour long phone calls to Ebay. Should I purchase my own label or continue hitting my head against the wall?
Today has been nothing but glitches.. What would you do in this situation? Thanks for your help.

You don’t have to upload the tracking number. Since the label was issued by eBay, the tracking number was already uploaded for you, that’s why you are getting that error message 🙂

Thank you. The tracking number is not showing on the return.
In all of my years on Ebay this is my second return. The first return long ago,
I was able to add the tracking number easily and it showed as applied to the return.
This time it won't upload or show as applied to the return. So do you think that it will show as delivered even though no tracking number is showing? Might that be an issue of proving delivery? Thanks!

I'm having this same problem.
It won't allow me to mark my return as shipped with the tracking number I was given.
I had this same problem a couple of years ago. I can't believe this is still an issue. It's a major flaw on eBay's part, as it could result in the buyer not being able to prove having sent the item back.
I just added a zero to the beginning of the number and it went through. Then, I sent a message to the seller letting them know it was sent and why the number has an extra digit.

@moonunit831 eBay told you wrong. It will update along the way. The system will see the acceptance scan and know you shipped. And it will know when it was delivered. It doesn’t need to see and display step by step tracking.

When you use an Ebay return label, all you have to is get it scanned when you drop it off and it will update in Ebays system.

Ebays system is slow, there are delays 😞
