I just bought this pump
https://www.ebay.com/itm/184670681558
and the seller says:
"Returns will not be accepted, unless the product is returned within 30 days and is in its original condition unopened..."
Now, this item is actually "new, open box" so my question doesn't apply exactly to this item, but let's say the item says "new" and the box is sealed, but has the above disclaimer of "box must be returned unopened." Well if I open the box and the item is dead, I'm getting my $ back, you sold me a broken item.
Does the seller have any right to refuse this return just because they say "box must be returned unopened?" eBay satisfaction guarantee should apply to this item regardless of what the seller says.
Thanks-

"eBay satisfaction guarantee should apply to this item regardless of what the seller says."
And it does. No worries.

His return policy is unenforceable.

Of course.
It isn't enforceable though.
I have an account that I give several more options to returns that ebay doesn't for a few specific items of mine. I cannot enforce them and no buyer has to agree but many do to both our advantage.

That part of the return policy would apply to remorse returns not to not as described returns. A seller can ask that for remorse returns. His part that mentions items not as described is unenforceable though
