Buyers are able to select eBay International Standard when I do not offer it

Over 2021 I had tried eBay international standard. I had so many problems, lost a number of packages and the time in transit was much longer than expected quite often even if it didn't get lost, that I discontinued it entirely. I removed all instances of ebay international standard in my policies. Made sure there was nothing left. Recently, I've begun getting orders here and there where the buyer has selected eBay International Standard. I just had one today, I double checked the shipping policy, it is not an option and should not have been one for the customer. To make it worse, when I go to print the label it actually forces me to use specifically that service, all other options have been removed.

Anyone else having this issue?

Re: Buyers are able to select eBay International Standard when I do not offer it

I also stopped using eBay International Standard, but I did so because the eBay calculator does not calculate with dimensional weight and undercharges the customer for shipping. I only see the overcharge when it shows up in my statement like when using FedEx and they change the charge.

I wonder if your sales are to Australia, New Zealand or some other country that USPS is not shipping to now. https://about.usps.com/newsroom/service-alerts/international/welcome.htm I had a sale to Australia where I did not offer eBay International Standard. However, that was the only option that came up for shipping. I could not do First Class as it was blocked. The calculator charge was $25 under what the dimensional charge would be and I was going to lose money on the transaction. I canceled it as a problem with the buyer's address.

What happened to Global Shipping?   Like you, I had issues years ago w/  international shipping, so I never offer it.  I use GSP exclusively. I've had a few customers ask if I'll ship International...I won't, even if I lose the sale. I sent an item to Kentucky last week (GSP)...no issues.  Are you saying we now are being forced to not ship GSP, and being pushed into International shipping?

You need to 'exclude' all countries except USA in ALL Listings; this can be done in the 'seller hub/active listings/edit all.

Re: Buyers are able to select eBay International Standard when I do not offer it

I'm not sure if that is the case or not. I don't really know why this has happened. So I offer USPS priority international and I can see that that is what the costumer selected. However, when I go to ship I am only being given the option to ship it eBay international standard. Which wasn't offered or selected as I just noticed. I don't know why this is but it has happened a few times to me now. It isn't being chosen, and it isn't offered as an option, I have no idea why I am being forced to use it. I also do have GSP toggled on, the only options on this particular listing are GSP or USPS priority mail international.

Re: Buyers are able to select eBay International Standard when I do not offer it

Not sure what you mean? I ship internationally, and I want to continue to. I do not however want to use eBay international standard service. And I do not offer it as a service, the buyer also didn't select it I just noticed the service they select was what I offered ( USPS Priority Mail International). But when I go to ship I have no other option but to ship eBay International standard and quite frankly I would rather not ship at all if that is my only option.

Re: Buyers are able to select eBay International Standard when I do not offer it

The one way you can bypass it is to NOT print your label via ebay.  Paypal now transfers you to  Shipstation for online shipping labels.  You can buy and print your label from there. There are also other options like Pirate Ship.

here is some info that may help for future listings/sales.

That's likely the route I will have to take with pirateship. The business policy has been set up correctly, unfortunately. Seems its out of my control

About 40% of my sales are international. Been using eBay International Standard since its inception years ago, when it was first called eBay Send International. Only had 2 packages that did not get delivered and I was compensated with their automatic 100$ insurance.

That said, do you have your international shipping settings on 'no international shipping'?

You can cancel the transaction due to 'problem with buyer's address' so you don't get a defect.

Re: Buyers are able to select eBay International Standard when I do not offer it

I don't use .com labels so can't look at a label page but are you sure that there isn't a place on the label page where you can click on to look at other services? A buyer can only choose a service that your listing offers so  if ebay is defaulting to ebay international there must still be a way for you to go to other services.

Perhaps someone who uses ebay labels knows where on the page the option to explore other services is?

Re: Buyers are able to select eBay International Standard when I do not offer it

I have international shipping available, the only two options that should be available to the buyers is USPS Priority mail international, or the GSP. I removed any instance where I offered Ebay International Standard. That's the part that confuses me. its no where in my policy at all I have no idea why this happens. It isn't available in any of my policies. So I have no idea why ebay would be redirecting me to use it.

Re: Buyers are able to select eBay International Standard when I do not offer it

Checked it up and down, there is no other place for them to be. I ship through ebays bulk shipping tab. Checked there and on the individual purchase shipping label for item option, both are the same. I can also see on the customers order that they selected USPS Priority Mail International which is correct that should've been the only one it could go through, it's that or GSP. I don't understand why International Standard would be coming up at all, it doesn't make sense to me

Re: Buyers are able to select eBay International Standard when I do not offer it

It is to Australia, I hadn't seen that notice. good eye! That must be it, thank you. I happen to skirt around the problem of them undercharging dimensional weight, instead of listing dimensions on eBay I calculate for dimensional weight ahead of time. whichever is higher I just list in pounds. Works in most cases. May be why I never saw that issue.
