Hi,
I have customer who wants to return an item that he says is "not new". The item is NEW. He says it does not have tags on it. He agreed to receive the product out of the package to save on the shipping cost - I corresponded with him on this. My auction states "no returns", however, I agreed to take it back stating he would have to pay for the return. In this case - who is going to end up having to pay for the return? This customer has been so difficult to work with and now I am afraid I will get a bad review.

It depends on the return reason selected by the buyer:
You (the seller) will pay if the buyer selects:
The buyer pays if the buyer selects one of these return reasons:

Thank you for your input. That is what I figured. I am sure he will probably select "doesn't match description or photos". What recourse do I have. He says the shams are not new, but they are. I modified my auction to remove the packaging material to lower the price on shipping and now he says they are not new. Now I will be stuck with shipping there and back. 😞

OMG - now this is what he is saying - see below.
My profit on these shams will be 0.
The shams were in perfect new condition when I mailed them. Now what do I do?
"Hi, I was putting my bed together and the sham zipper came of on one of the shams, now I only have one sham that works, can I get partial refund for the one sham.?
Ten dollars for the sham zipper to get fixed at the cleaners. Is half of what the lady charges to fix it.
Please let me know"

This customer emailed me over 10 times -
I shot him a price and forgot the sales tax - so I had to give him a discount for it. Now he is asking for a discount because he said there is an issue that was not there before I sent them.

If I don't comply with his wishes, I will probably get negative feedback. I really went out of my way to please this customer. I will make nothing on this sale. I am just **bleep** - people have become terrible to deal with.

Has the buyer shown you pics of the damage? I'll bet the shams are fine.
Issue a return and honor the refund when you receive them. There's a market for used shams. Relist them.

Well - I did a search of this customer online and found the below information:
I don't know how he can have such a good Ebay score.
My suggestion to anybody - do not deal with this guy.

Take your own advice. Add the buyer to your blocked bidder list.

Yes - I will be doing that.
Thank you

You should remove his personal information from this thread.
I would accept the return request, just repeating over and over that he needs to return both items in the condition you sent them in for a refund. I wouldn't entertain partial refunds. He is being very bothersome and messaging over and over. I would report him for harassment as soon as the return issue is taken care of.
