Buyer used wrong address on purchase, shipped with different label than Ebay's provided

I could not edit the address on the printable label Ebay provided, however I did already create the label and it's in their system as "shipped" and tracking number provided. Today I went to USPS and their only option was for me to pay and create a new label with the correct address, which I did and shipped the item.

My question is how would Ebay confirm when the item is delivered? The original label will never move, I cannot edit the original tracking number or cancel it, however I did provide a second tracking number for the new label I created which will be delivered. I just want to know if this will workout and if they will release the funds to me?

Yea I will not cancel yet in the event that the interception doesn't work. From my understanding of your example, they will charge my bank 150$, 50$ will come from Ebay, and I will receive the original payment on hold of 200$? So technically I would gain 50$?

Could I void the new shipping label too? the one that i'm paying to intercept

No. eBay would remove the $50 fee from the $200 before the hold was released. You should break even on a cancellation minus the non-refundable 30 cent transaction fee.

No, you can only void a label that is unused and never scanned in to the system.

Well would it still work? If the item is delivered with the new label will ebay be able to confirm it since I provided the new tracking number on the website? Can the buyer easily just select that the item was not delivered and I wouldn't be able to contact ebay with the messages as evidence to dispute?

No, it has to be delivered to the address they give when they paid.

Yes, if the buyer files an INR, you would have to refund, since you changed the address.

I will do that now, thank you. Could I void the new shipping label too? the one that i'm paying to intercept

@missiondrago

Don't void the new label you're shipping with now. That is the number for the package you're looking to intercept.

And regarding the other question, what I'm asking is simply if Ebay will in fact release the money to me after the item has been delivered if they do not file "item not received".  Assuming that Ebay's system has to confirm that the package has been delivered in order to release the money which I don't know if they'd be able to do since I used another label.

You would have to cover the full refund.

The fee's will be refunded to from Ebay.

Once the buyers payment is released, they will be sent to your checking account.

They used to hold the funds for 21 days, but lately, they've been holding them for 30 days.

Ok well that sounds dangerous for me after they charge me for the full refund and if there is any possibility that the buyer could cancel the original payment via their bank, where I wouldnt get the funds on hold

You will not be forced to refund the buyer twice. That would be insane. One refund is all they get. How that plays out in your case is to be determined.

It is possible that you'll have to refund while the buyer gets to keep the item. That's the potential loss you're looking at here.

Best case scenario for you is that the package intercept is successful and you issue a refund to the buyer by way of an order cancellation. You'll be out shipping and intercept fee, but you'll have the item back.

Re: Buyer used wrong address on purchase, shipped with different label than Ebay's provided

Can you clarify how the process works? Will my bank be charged the full refund amount and Ebay sends that to the buyer, after, the original funds on hold will be released to me?

However this is what it says on the cancelation page:

"We will deduct the total amount from your funds available for payout. If those funds are insufficient, you authorize us to charge the balance to your Bank ending in XXXX. We may aggregate this amount with other amounts you owe. "

From my understanding, this means that the refund will be deducted from the original funds on hold and sent back to the buyer. They will only charge my bank if the funds are insufficient.
