We are vintage doll power sellers (20 yrs on eBay) with perfect feedback and glowing reviews. We recently sold a vintage doll dress in excellent condition. The buyer received the item and sent us a very rude message stating the dress was torn and faded and filthy. The buyer then said they threw it in the trash ? (It was NOT defective in any way as it was looked over extremely carefully as all our items are and in near mint condition. It had no damages, and could not be faded as it was made of white lace and tulle) The buyer said in their message they wanted an immediate response and action from us so we sent a message right back simply stating please send the item back to us and we will issue you a full refund including return shipping via PayPal. The buyer responded with no they will not send it back it was in the trash and now a landfill? Then went on to say how filthy it was and the person it was intended for (their daughter) has congenital heart defect (?!) and can have filthy items near her. They also said they were going to leave negative feedback! What can be done about this? We were extremely professional, prompt and kind, offering a full refund If they return the item even though we know the item was in impeccable condition, just to make the buyer happy.

This is a pic from your listing. I see tears, dirt, and also a few hairs on it.

And the listing said there were a few tears on the slip
This was sold as a vintage, delicate collectible item.

The point is the buyer said it was dirty, had tears....
The seller themself said it did so why call the buyer a liar?

That photo is of the slip (which goes under the dress) buyer was fully aware it was damaged as stated in the auction. The buyer made NO mention of being unhappy with damages indicated to the slip. She complained the DRESS was torn and filthy. This is an outright LIE. I have a file with 20 photos of this listing (eBay only allows up to 12) and are extremely clear with HD camera, from all angles (actual photos are even more clear than the photos once uploaded on eBay. ) and there is not a single tear, no fade at all the dress was perfect. Impeccable. She knows this, as other commenters above have said, she either wanted to keep it (who throws away a $56 dress?) or was just being nasty and dishonest. I immediately contacted this buyer and politely asked her to send it back (no questions asked) and even offered to pay for return shipping (as I KNEW the dress was in perfect condition) wouldn’t YOU as a buyer, happily comply so you may be fully refunded if you’re not happy with an item?? But NO she said she threw it away THEN immediately took it to a landfill? Sure. Not buying it. I was nothing but accommodating but this buyer was outright rude and left an unwarranted negative FB on my account.

Here is your solution.
The buyer threatend to leave neg fb, you have no worries now if you do get a neg.
Get head of this possible nightmare extortion "buyer" by CALLING ebay personally BEFORE (now) a possible neg- SHOW that ebay csr the ad- stay calm- report that buyer- ASK THE CSR to GIVE YOU THE CONVERSATION# (1- whatever the # is) and if and when the neg pops up immediatly CALL ebay again- stay calm and give them the CONVERSATION # from the call you made before- stay calm and factual and the neg will be quickly removed.
Note the buyers name and address- I have the last 12 mos. problem buyers on a BIG chalk board- with their addresses on it tight in front of my face in my living room- and suspicious bids from that state now need to be scrutinized for at least a month or 2- stay aware- keep your converstion numbers NOTED and you will be okay.
God bless that open threat and isn't it just so PLEASURABLE to make a living on ebay?
Buyers need 1 id- this is why.
MB- if you need any direct advice you can message me.

Here are the actual CLEAR photos (as opposed to the ebay photos), this is the dress. There is not a single spot or tear ANYWHERE. She also said it was faded? It is TULLE and lace. This fabric was NOT in any way faded. If you check my feedback you will see prior to her negative EVERY buyer has said they were extremely happy with their purchase, or it was in better condition than described.
Obviously this buyer has ISSUES. It had nothing to do with the item they purchased. WHY NOT send it BACK??? Especially when as sellers, we were being OVERLY Accomodating. And then to leave a negative??

The slip is part of the listing.
You lose, sorry.

She was NOT referring to the slip. Sellers can list any item in any condition as long as the condition is accurately described. This was.

Wrong...Seller doesn't lose on this one..it's the buyer that lied claims she took a trip to specifically throw the dress in a landfill...Come on..
OP..you don't have to defend yourself...let it go...if buyer cannot return the dress, let it be...NO REFUND..Make sure you have blocked her.
