Buyer return an item : seller requires to return by register airmail with no tracking info.

I am from Hong Kong, I now return an item but seller do not want me to send by courier which cost HKD 420 and could show tracking on internet. Seller only want me to send by registered airmail which cost HKD 25.5 but could not show tracking info. So could he give me a disclaimer that showing to him the registered airmail no. mean he could receive it and thus I could get the refund.

If there is no tracking showing the item was delivered back to the seller, you'll have no proof it was shipped back.

I am not familiar with the mail system there but there but most mail systems have different levels of service. Does your post office offer a service that has tracking to the destination country that is less expensive than a courier?

Is the seller going to be paying for return shipping because there was a problem with the item?  If so, do not pay for postage until they send you the money. For postage.

Technically if a seller pays you to return an item without tracking, they still have to refund even if the packages doesn’t arrive,  However, I haven’t read of any cases of how the system works in that situation.  It wouldn’t be an automatic refund, customer service would have to be contacted.
