A buyer purchsed a Nintendo Wii from me with 3 games on April 21st. I sent it out and it was delivered on April 26th. The buyer sent me a message today, on June 18th, and said they want $25.00 returned because the Wii isn't reading disks. I don't sell broken items. I test everything out fully before I post it for sale. I used the system myself and played all 3 games on it before I posted all of it for sale. The buyer contacted me directly for a refund. They said, "sorry it took so long, but I've been busy." What's the policy for returns after 30 days? How do I know they didn't break it? I have a headache now.
Thanks for any input/suggestions/advice in advance!

I would send a message back and explain to them that unfortunately it is now well past the 30 day return period and if they would like they can contact ebay regarding the buyer protection program even though we all know ebay will tell them the same thing but it helps hearing it from ebay themselves. If he opens a case with PayPal you would explain the same thing that it was well past the ebay 30 return policy and that the item was completely functional. Be nice in the messages to customer and if he does open a case with PayPal you can screen shot the messages and attach them to the case. PayPal normally will follow bays return policy and deny the claim. PayPal has sided with me every time I have done it that way.

Depends on your return policy, is it 30 days? If so, you do not have to accept the return.
But, if he paid thru PayPal, he has 180 days to open a case 😞 or he can do a chargeback

Yeah, they're just trying to wrestle a partial refund from you. The best part is when they make excuses for not resolving an issue in the already generous time frame given. "Too busy", "Sick injured self or relative", and "Out of the country" (it's my personal favorite because, you know, everyone places a bunch of orders for stuff they don't need when they're just about to LEAVE THE COUNTRY! Okayyyyy
LoL

"Dear Buyer. I am sorry that you are having difficulty with your purchase. Unfortunately, the 30-day return window on this item has closed. Seller."

@ nickelsanddimes, does this happen a lot? The buyer is a broker for refurbished electronics. I also post pictures of the serial numbers on my game consoles.

PayPal has a 180 day policy.

180 day policy if the item was not as described or wrong item received. Isn't that correct?

Seems an item not working would be "not as described"

I don't know how to block the buyer. Can anyone please advise? Thanks
