Buyer claims defective issue on brand new item. Won't answer any troubleshooting questions.

Hey guys,

I sold 10x of a brand new Antminer z9 mini. Buyer after 2 weeks is saying the internet isnt staying connected. I tried to troubleshoot with him but he wouldn't answer my questions. He wouldn't even answer if this is affecting just 1 unit or all 10 but he's requesting to return all 10. He isn't answering if the units are crashing (frozen) or just rebooting. Just, he had a technician come out and his internet is fine.

First of all, the sympton of an Antminer losing connectivity is related to high overlock  or high CPU temperature. Overclocking of any kind voids the warranty with the manufacturer. Second, defective NIC is something that I've never heard of on a brand new Antminer.  Thirdly, ALL TEN of them conveniently have a defective NIC?

I asked him about 30 questions and all he said was, my internet works fine.

I can make a few guesses as to why he wants to return. He probably didnt realize its **bleep** near impossible to run 10 of these in a tiny apartment. Tiny apartment probably can't handle the power requirements to run 10 of these. These things are way too loud to be running in a apartment. I know it's buyers remourse but the problem is these things deprecate 50% every month after being released.

Ebay has forced me to provide him a shipping label. Am I going to also be forced to provide a full refund? I mean he's been mining on these things for 3 weeks now making money , and now he just gets a free return and keeps all the crypto he's made since then? What if I can prove these aren't defective?

"Is this real life"  @sm_shiromar ?

Why yes, it is..in the "we can do whatever we want, and if you don't like it, MUGGER OFF (Mugger with a B, you understand) La La world of eBay, and possibly Gumtree, since it's owned by  eBay, and has been since 2005 (along with LoQUo, and opusforum) at a cost of  $81.6 million for the three. SO it would seem that crime DOES pay, (and pay's well) after all.

Well just an update.

Buyer mailed these off last second.

I did receive them and video recorded the whole unboxing. It might seem excessive but the buyer was so vague in his issues I half expected there to be saw dust and bricks.

Thankfully, they all arrived with out a hitch. I matched them with the serial# and they did indeed match. So I did give the buyer the benefit of the doubt and proceeded to try to replicate his issue.

"Won't stay connected to the internet for more than 4 hours"

Well I now have 60 hours of uptime. So I really don't know if the buyer was just bad at networking or legit trying to rent these free of charge and costing me 30%.

I can video proof the items are 100% working with no issues and buyer is a liar/scammer or just an idiot. Do I have any options? I really can't believe that if I can proove it I can't get any help.

Your video was a complete waste of time.   Issue a full refund.

I am sorry this happened to you.  You are very lucky you got the items back and that they still function properly.

The help is that you report them.

If every seller reports dumb and malicious buyers they go away.

If you don't report them you are allowing them to do the same thing to me

I think the reply of

"Your video was a complete waste of time.   Issue a full refund"

by sam9876  could have been thinking better, yet sadly I believe it is correct, since it only shows what?, you opening a box on camera?. Now perhaps if you had a video of your regular  "postie person" handing you a box on video, and continued (uninterrupted) with the unboxing ?, I think you'd still  be stuffed.

The classic problem with eBay is the question of proof, not that eBay can give a stuff when it's so easy for them to give your/our stuff away, and refund the (often liar, and/or thief) buyer, not that I think sellers are all angels.

I believe the system as it stands is a magnet for scammers, with eBay making it easy, while, at the same time, it's worth  10%+ to em. Smiley Sad
