Why has the Listing shipping cost for the items for which I chose USPS Ground Advantage (because they weigh less than 15 oz) automatically changed to $27.53?

What is the item you are shipping and what are the dimensions? Costs can go up based on dimensions. Do you have the correct dimensions? Location is another thing as well.

It happened on 20 of my listings. All were 11x10x1. I had originally selected a flat $5 for the shipping cost.

I can add that they were t shrts, ties, belts, and tops.

I've seen this mentioned before - change the short dimension to 2" instead of 1" and the cost should go down.

Looked at two listings that should be cheap (ties) shipping, but is 20 plus $.
The listings shows UPS ground saver................not USPS, so that 1" UPS charge applies.
ETA: your $5 USPS "flat charge" policy would not apply to the ones showing UPS

Yup, Change that depth to 2"...do not list as 1" depth

I found this to be helpful to get the lowest and most accurate shipping rates for UPS.
My packages are typically small 6x8x2 or a bubble mailer which can be considered 1 inch. Why a smaller height amount is considered a higher cost I dunno. Perhaps a flaw in the irregular size category? Or more likely just best to round up measurements.
A pain in the butt to adjust most listings individually. Noticed that active bid auctions and items with sent offers aren't changeable. (until auction is over or offer expires).
Was able to make further adjustments to a template rather easily.

The advice to edit your listings to 2" as a fix is poor advice without providing the details. If your bubble envelopes are 1" or less, you should not be entering 2". Only enter 2" if your packages truly exceed 1", even by a fraction of an inch.
This is not a system error. If you enter 2" but your package is 1" or less, you can get socked with an after the fact cost adjustment by UPS.

Thank you for the link with further information. It makes lots of sense and I've adjusted accordingly.
Perhaps I've been lucky. Also, though I use bubble mailers, inside are small jewelry boxes which average over 1" in height and I think that's why I haven't been tagged with surcharges. Yet. *knock on wood*
Again rounding up is best.
