Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this, or if it is just me...
Let me start by saying that my local post office is one of the worst in my area, in terms of counter service and deliveries. They have 1 star on Google reviews.
I go directly to the USPS website to schedule a pickup, and use the form there to request carrier pickup.
Most times, the confirmation that the request has been received comes in about 30 minutes or so, a few times, there was none at all.
3 times now, I have had a carrier not collect a package, yet I still get a 2nd confirmation stating "We have completed your pickup".
I tracked down the carrier today, and he played innocent, and asked me where I had left it, I told him, and he gave a half-hearted "sorry", but the tracking number has yet to be scanned an hour later... it's usually done when they pick it up, if they do.
I would take it to the PO and wait in the line for 45 minutes to see that they all get scanned in, but my current situation doesn't allow that.
Very frustrating.

I would call the USPS (or go to their website) and report this mail carrier. It sounds very much like the problem is your local office so go over their heads and see if that helps.

Sadly, I am in the same boat as you and it's starting to make me feel incompetent, or that maybe, I shouldn't be a seller for too much longer.
First, there are 3 Post Office locations (one being a "head center") within miles of my location. One place I go to, one of the CSR is always so so very rude, or snappy... and seemingly loves to point out errors I may have made, yet offers no help.. ever.
I have only been selling since the end of Feb. of this year, however; this past month has been nothing but a headache and a half. I call for a pickup.. either, they don't get out and come to my porch.. literally have ignored the raised flag... ( I am talking 2 very small FC packages).. OR now, they don't even bother to scan, or packages are showing not delivered.. as if they are just constantly in transit.
Today, I throroughly went through my "shipping label" and "all order" page. I reached out to many that showed, that either a package was still in transit, or just a label created, as it has GREATLY affected my scoring on shipping as far as ebay is concerned. Thus far, I've had two customers claim they did not receive their item. Before, I could even read their messages, they opened a refund case. These were items that were shipped out 4-4 and a few days after.
Then, I have had no other responses, other than one customer, that said she recieved it super fast, and it was showing on her end, it had not been delivered either. Some I knew were delivered b/c of feedback. But others, you just have no way of knowing. I wonder if my labels are "falling" off during transit. Either way, it's almost as though I feel, scheduling pick/up...dropping off, etc. My upload and tracking info is rarely correct or in sync.

I have been having problem with USPS pickup for years,when there is no show and the USPS email said a pickup has been made,I WILL go back to USPS and file a complaint.
I cant even recall how many times I have done that,it does not make any difference,they have a new postman,or a trainee,or someone who think he is too good for the job.
It is not a easy job,the older ones do not have the stamina,the young ones are not reliable.
MAY BE someday they will have robot in driverless cars.
