As the title says, I scheduled a package for pick up by USPS. The Amazon delivery guy, delivered some packages and saw the pickup sign and picked up my USPS packages by mistake. What am I suppose to do ? Will they pass it to the USPS ?

Oh no!
Have you contacted Amazon?
I'd start there. Tell them what happened. They should be able to locate the driver who delivered your items and have them bring back your USPS package (or take it to the PO, but wow, I don't know!)

I just spoke with an Amazon customer service. He said your package will be delivered to the destination but his words didn't seem very promising over the phone and I don't have any proof. I'm not sure what to do at this point.

Did he happen to say what destination he was referring to?
Your customer's address?
Your local post office?
Back to your house?
The Amazon warehouse?

Was it a mistake? This made the news on the BBC website a couple of weeks ago.
These thieves must realise there's camera's everywhere. Either they're stupid or just don't care.

Man, that stinks. I've had UPS do that before. With UPS, they drop off packages at USPS every day, so it took a couple days for my packages to get with the right carrier. UPS took them to the local UPS hub where they were put in with all their Surepost shipments that get dropped off at USPS every day. Once that happened the packages were scanned in by USPS. A few days late, but made it to my buyers in the end.
Amazon delivery service is different and I don't know what will happen. I hope those packages will turn up within a few days (it's Saturday so I'd give it 'til Tuesday) like mine did when the UPS guy took them. Come back and let us know how this progresses and good luck!

No he didn't mention anything about where it'll be delivered to. I believe he had no idea how to respond to that question so he just said something... . I called them again and another representative answered and she said there's nothing they can do about it 😞
I think "bennottbill" is right, it probably wasn't a mistake but let's wait a few days and see what will happen .

I think you're right, it probably wasn't a mistake but let's wait a few days and see what happens. I already messaged my buyer and updated them of the situation. I'll probably have to take the loss.

Yes UPS is a different story and Amazon is different.Let's hope the tracking # will be updated but I highly doubt it.
I'll post an update here on Tuesday.

Amazon picks up packages at someone's home?
Never saw an Amazon delivery guy go out of their way. LOL.
Amazon just throw packages on our porch...unlike USPS, UPS and FedEx.
If you actually saw the Amazon delivery guy..."picked up my USPS packages"...and did nothing...there is I saw and assume...and there is running after the guy....we don't have the whole story.

I will offer - as I work for Amazon - when these packages do show up - one of 3 things can occur 1) its containerized& shipped to the nearest building in the chain that handles unknown items 2) it's placed into a container to send it to USPS if the building handles it - as it costs us nothing for postage 3) its sent back to our distribution center to add back into stock / disposal.
In regards to moving it to USPS - that could take up to a month...

Has anything shown up yet on your tracking?
My experience may be nothing like yours since I've never seen an Amazon delivery person, but I live in a rural area where people order pretty much everything they can through Amazon. Our USPS delivery person said they usually can't handle all the deliveries so they have a second vehicle going out most days with the packages to deliver. Just a couple days ago a pickup truck full of packages arrived at my mailbox with a delivery and saw my outgoing package and took it. I worried some, since my regular driver arrived later with the pick up sheet and I had nothing for him, but the tracking has now updated.

It seems like there's no update on the tracking #. I refunded the customer and took the loss.

Oh, that's a shame. It's like an inverse porch pirate: The Amazon guy took your package, rather than the usually experience of the Amazon guy leaving one that somebody else then stole.

Sorry to hear that. Based on what Kalyoth posted above, there is a slim chance it'll eventually make its way to USPS. Check tracking in a few weeks - maybe it'll pop up. If it does you can ask the buyer to refuse the package so it's returned to you.
